Front Office Football 2007 was released in October 2006. An update, to version 6.0a, was released in November. This update is free for all Front Office Football 2007 customers.
If you purchased the game after November 14, 2006, you most likely have the updated version. To check to see if you have the update, press the desk icon near the upper right corner of the game screen. The version number is in the bottom right of the information screen.
IMPORTANT: To install the update, first remove the existing game using the Add/Remove Programs option from the Windows Control Panel. This will not affect your saved games in Front Office Football 2007. Then download (http://home.avvanta.com/%7Esolecism/FrontOfficeFootball2007.exe) the installation file and run it. You should be all set. Careers that you began with the October release are fully compatible with the updated version.
New features noticed to date:
Player of the week wins are now differentiated from player of the week mentions.
Scouted bar ratings added to depth chart screens.
New information added to e-mail screens, including when to do weight training, summer league and draft interviews.Cool patch screenie:

Jim - I really appreciate your willingness to add the scout information back to the depth chart screen.

Ditto! The other things Jim mention seem good to, hopefully I can dig into this a bit more in SP finally today - good timing for the patch based on my workload.

Is it intentional that lots of players with one year left on their contacts won't ask for more than one year contracts (effectively being a waste of time). This means that you have to faff around finding a salary that they want if you want to actually make sure they don't hit free agency at the end of the year. Which is a bit of a pain. At first I thought it was just 2-3 experience guys. And kickers. But it's happening with a few of my vets as well. This is in free agency period 1.

A player who isn't in line for a bonus will not ask for more than one year.

Fair enough. Thanks for the quick answer. It's still a pain in the arse trying to extend their contracts but I guess it's not a biggie.

I noticed Solevision hasn't changed at all - I was hoping for some color coordination for teams in the red zone, scoring, etc. Certainly not a deal breaker.

Is there a readme or something somewhere?
Sorry, that should read Ben..
Doesn't appear to be one at this point, just going on Ben's posts and what he has found.
Wow nice, thanks a lot Jim.
What about a changes/bug fixed list?
Solecismic
11-14-2006, 08:11 AM
No, it would take awhile to create one. I was working off several lists, and at times directly off the forum - and many of those posts are now deleted.
If something was reported, I took a look at it. Since this is coming so quickly off the release, I didn't feel a formal list was necessary this time. I will next time, because it's going to be a couple of months before I can work on the game again.

Can you run-down a rudimentary list of additions (instead of bug fixes) you made?

It's really not that important. Just a few small things here and there. You've seen the depth chart redesigns. I've added a couple of display options. Nothing truly ground-shaking.

Probably obvious and all, but just to be extremely careful: Should we unlicense first prior to removing the existing game?

Some other noticable improvements:
Player cards for players on other teams no longer change color schemes
Much less lag when clicking through player cards and when using the Recommend Player function.

No, do not unlicense. Just follow the directions above using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel before you install the patch. Note, you do not have to delete files or do anything else. You can also download the patch before or during downloading the actual file. Just be sure to remove FOF 2007 from the Add/Remove Programs before opening the file.

That sounds good then, :) Some of the other teams designs, well, I don't get along with them too well. Luckily the Indy one is very good and easy on the eyes.

w00t! This is huge for me. I haven't been able to get past the first few weeks of any single player game because of this (and the lag on player card changes). Fixing those two issues makes me really excited to fire it up for another shot tonight. Thanks Jim!

Thanks Jim!I hadn't noticed the loading time changes for the player cards, but the recommend function load time seems to be much improved! That sure makes me happy! It will make playing FOF2007 on this or another old machine so much easier.

he stats that he looked at reported bugs or suggestions.
But no info on what was fixed or what kept things from being fixed.
Probably that is simple to understand but it still leaves a great deal of room for guessing what was done.
I will assume that the scoring errors that were previously reported have been fixed but I would like to know for sure. That is kinda of a game breaker to me.
Since Jim has said this will be the last patch for some time I am not a buyer if I don"t know this has been addressed.
Another important thing reported on this forum was that AI controlled teams were using only two running backs if one did not get injured. Thats just not realistic and I would need to be very happy with everything else to overlook this situatuion.
After having bought all previous FOF pro editions and really liked them here is hoping that I can get an answer on these two questions and get right into playing.

One of the largest bugs, IMO, was the AI franchising the same player every single year - remains :(
Home field advantage in the playoffs - which has never seemed quite right - still seems off. Home teams just went 1-9 in the playoffs.

Has the patch lowered the quality of "filler" Free Agents that are created and signed to replace the fringe players on each team right after league creation?

The font for player names is very small now. I hope it can go back to the big font in the next patch.
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/8803/nametopau7.jpg
I also noticed there are no longer titles on top of any of the windows. As you can see in this screen shot, it does not list which week it is like it used to in the previous versions. There are actually, not titles on any windows. One of them that stands out most is the draft screen. It doesn't show which round it is on top of the window now. I hope his can go back to how it used to be as well.

I never offered this up on the orig fix thread. I see that it wasn't fixed.
I click into the player card. I do my thing there and confirm action. I then close and am placed back in the roster screen.
I can't use my scroll wheel before clicking on a column header. If I scroll right out of the player card, it defaults to scrolling through team rosters.
It's not a big deal but it was something I was used to in the last version. I find myself continually having to click wheel BACK to my team to click a column so I can scroll down.

I had previously said I wasn't experiencing this. Now I see that it doesn't happen when I just click on a player and exit, but it will happen when I perform an action such as a renegotiation and exit.
