For those that may be interested. We are down to 24 players in a $10 180 man tourney (not a big tourney I realize). The money is at 18 and I am the chip leader by about 15k chips.

It's tournament 35964169 and I am at table 17.

I'm guessing this is PokerStars?

It appears that this week they completely revamped their tourney schedule.

Heh I am 2nd in chips now. The previous #3 doubled through #4. :)

Ok we are in the money now. I am sitting on 39k in chips and the chip lead again. Blinds are at 400/800 with a 50 ante so I have an M of about 23 which isn't bad for this stage of the tourney.

Yep, considering the bottom six have Ms of 5 or less

Just hit a set of As after getting in pre with a shorter stack to get to 47k

cartman

Good thing that guy was short stacked. Prime had pocket Ks against pocket 4s, and the other guy catches a set. Only cost him around $3K. But he gets it back and then some on the next hand.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:04 PM
Yeah the next hand I had T8o and after a limper a guy pushed for like 1500 more. I was getting almost 3 to one on my money so I called. Hit a T on the flop and the 3rd guy and I checked it down and my hand held up. I am sitting at 50k now

I have been fortunate tonight. I have had big pairs cracked 3 times tonight, but each time it was by a short stack.

Ok blinds up to 600/1200 with a 75 ante. I have an M of about 21 now. They are going to start dropping fast now I would imagine.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:09 PM
No on else at my table has an M over 8.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:13 PM
Lot of limping at the table suddenly. Which is the complete wrong thing to do when they are all so short stacked.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:14 PM
Unfortunately I am card dead at the moment and can't exploit it :)

For those watching my table surfking is absolutely horrific. He was an early chip leader. I played with him the first hour. He built up a big stack on several suck outs and then doubled me up when I got AA. :)

timmae

a few stabs here and there but not much action..

Yeah I feel like I am playing way too passively given I am the big stack, but I have had just a run of unsuited shit for the last 15 min

cartman
11-15-2006, 11:20 PM
d'oh. AKs vs. JJ. He gets two of his suit on the flop, but doesn't get another, or AK. Still chiplead, but only by 100

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:20 PM
Ugh just lost a big hand. AKs SB called my raise. Flop came Q high with two of my suit and the SB pushed for about 10k more. I was getting about 1.8:1 to call with two overs and a flush draw. Easy call, but I didn;t get there and his JJ held. Still barely the chip leader.

timmae
11-15-2006, 11:21 PM
felt for him there... sucks.. whatcha gonna do I guess.

primelord

My theory of them dropping quickly is not coming to fruition. We have been at 13 for ever it seems.

There are enough people within 50% of each other, that they aren't going to risk it calling an all-in from a shorter stack.

cartman
11-15-2006, 11:25 PM
he's gone back up to about a 10K chip lead by collecting some unchallenged raises

Yeah it is unfortunate too. I am the chip leader and my M is just above 11. They can't possible last that much longer.

cartman
11-15-2006, 11:28 PM
Ouch, that sucks. AA gets cracked by set of 7s.

:(

Ok we are at the 3rd break. 2 people away from the final table. I nhave 30k in chips and I am in 3rd. After the break though my M will be 8. So really I am going to have to get lucky now.

timmae
11-15-2006, 11:39 PM

AK on that last hand for those that are curious

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:54 PM
64k in chips now

timmae
11-15-2006, 11:55 PM
once it's over you'll have to key me in on what you had against the 2nd in chips sitting at your right when you called, called, raised him.. on a-2-3 flop..

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:55 PM
Man the chip leader is in the BB now everytime I am the button. That is absolutely no fun

It was AK. I figured I was ahead preflop and given the two big stacks everyone else would get out of the way. And I knew he would cbet the flop. I was planning on trying to take it away from him ont he flop, but then the A hit.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:58 PM
The chip leader does not appear to be very aggressive. Maybe he is just card dead, but he just called my raise with JJ and then was happy to just check call from there. Since then he has been very quiet. Maybe I can take some blinds from him.

primelord
11-15-2006, 11:58 PM
This could be interesting...

cartman
11-15-2006, 11:59 PM
the guy is now gone between you and chip lead

timmae
11-15-2006, 11:59 PM
down to 6... prime at 2nd in chips with 1st on his left and 3rd on his right... 85k-55k-50k

primelord
11-16-2006, 12:00 AM
Well it turned out not to be interesting. The big stack had a chance to knock out 3 guys at once, but in the end only one went out. 6 left now.

cartman
11-16-2006, 12:03 AM
prime puts in a big raise, and it was reraised. He calls after a pause. AKs vs. Qxs. A Q comes on the flop, but the reraiser gets a straight on the turn. prime is still 4th in chips

primelord
11-16-2006, 12:03 AM
Just lost a big hand. Raised Q7s and got pushed on from the button. I was getting 2.5:1 to call which was just too much to fold. I almost sucked out, but his AK made a straight on the turn

timmae
11-16-2006, 12:04 AM
brilliant effort dude! bad streak of hands at the end..

cartman
11-16-2006, 12:04 AM
Aargh, out in 6th. Seabass, the chip lead, knock him out on a pair of Ks, when prime didn't pair his A or pickup the flush

primelord
11-16-2006, 12:04 AM
Oh well after losing another pretty big hand. I shove with A2 of spades and get called by KQ. The flop comes all low crads with two spades which means my opponent only has 4 outs. BUt he catches one of them on the turn and I am out 6th.

cartman
11-16-2006, 12:04 AM
and now surfking the hack gets quad Qs to crack AA

primelord
11-16-2006, 12:05 AM
Thanks for sweating me guys. $90 isn't that abd of a pay day for a $10 buy in, but I am not certain it was worth the 3 1/2 hours it took. :)

11-16-2006, 12:06 AM
