I'm crashing everytime I try to click 'view how aquired', I sent an email to support, but can anyone else confirm they're having this problem?

Just tried & yes, it crashed.

On the plus side, the major problem from 6.0a seems sorted on 1st glance, cheers Jim.

Here is the error report in case it can help Jim to debug it:

Unless it's just my display, I'm not sure that that will help too much :D
Edit - not applicable any more

I couldn't display it and when i did, it was just the list of .exe and .dll files, not a real error message.

Anyway i guess Jim will get the crash too and doesn't need our message.

Just a suggestion -- let's try to flesh out any other issues ASAP because I doubt Jim lets a crash bug sit long term.

I have a couple:

Design decision or bug? -- I've seen long-term non-football releated injuries/illnesses not in the player's log (severe anxiety and impaired vision). If a player is going to miss that much time -- I'd prefer to see it in the log.

HTML Box Score:

The columns should be in Targets ---- Catches ----- Yards order (it is everywhere else in the boxscore)

This crash concerns me, because it's been a long time since I've touched the how acquired code. This indicates some sort of instability elsewhere, or a stack fault caused by FOF eating too much memory. I'll take a look tonight.

I've taken six carloads of stuff to the dump today and now have a four-foot high stack of cardboard to recycle. I think it's been six years since we've even looked at our basement.

I've had two QTDs today while playing 6.0b. One happened at the end of a season when I clicked END SEASON and the other happened just as the game was about to sim my team's game.

I don't have the error report, but the next time it happens I will post it here.

We didn't even know you had a basement!

How long until the big move?

If you were Daivd, we'd think you were running for the border.

I know everyone is experiencing the issue, but to give you an idea on how much memory it's still happening with. I have 1.5GB of ram.

If you were Daivd, we'd think you were running for the border.

I just got off the phone renting a cargo van to take the first batch of stuff and put it in storage, which I'll do next week. They told me very specifically that I could not take it out of the country (it is more convenient to go through Ontario from here to the new home). So there goes that plan.

The move itself should take place in about a month. But if the house slips another week, then we'll plan on first week of January, because it's impossible to get a mover for late December.

1.5M of RAM is more than sufficient. I'm referring to stack space, which the game needs to reserve on its own. I'm already reserving more than I should - FOF either needs a lot of RAM and stack space, or it moves more slowly. I'd hate to see FOF 2007 even on the computer I developed TCY with. It would drag.

Since a lot of people seem to be running into this one, I'm sure my computer - which was up to the standard two years ago - will hit it as well.

With any other crash, a saved game from immediately before the crash placed on a server I can reach would be wonderful (our support email can not handle attachments of any real size).

I can't speak for the crash at end of year, but the How They Acquired Crash can be seen at any time, whether it be a saved or newly started game.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it happens no matter what.. I just started up a new league and clicked it at several parts in a season and into a 2nd season and it crashed every time.

we should have a single bug thread for 6.0b so Jim can find everything easily (maybe SkyDog can edit this thread to make it for all bugs). Anyway, to ensure it doesn't get lost, here's another possible bug posted elsewhere:

0 attendance in FOF 2007
I'm in my 6th year and 3 teams have 0 attendance. All of them have built new stadiums. There revenue for the year ranges from 66k-76k. So they took a big hit. Am I missing something here? Sorry if this has been posted before but I'd appreciate an answer to whats goin on.

Not a bad idea..

Should I hold off downloading the 6.0b patch then? Will another patch be coming shortly?

To the first question I would say no, to the second I would say probably, if only to fix the "how acquired" crash, but that's no reason to refrain from playing 6.0b now.

Ran into another minor one...

Oakland: Single-Back formation with trips receivers, strength is left. The defense is in a 43 and 3-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-20-ATL22 (4Q: 01:14) LaMont Jordan ran inside the left tackle for 0 yards. Tackled by ILB Edgerton Hartwell, assisted by ILB Edgerton Hartwell.

Another very minor bug. At the bottom of the box score screens, the ticket breakdown reads like this:

Section Attendance
Stadium 60,200 (64,500 capacity)
Upper Deck 18,400 (19,600)
Upper Deck 13,300 (14,200)
Mezzanine 7,700 (8,200)
Sideline Seats 11,700 (12,500)
Club Seats 6,500 (7,000)
Luxury Boxes 2,600 (3,000)

Two upper decks and no endzone.

Been lurking here and reading these very helpful threads. I am enjoying FOF 2007 quite a bit, but did encounter a bug in 6.0b. I had a playoff game go to double-OT, and there was no coin flip to start the second overtime. It progressed like 1st to 2nd quarter:

<table bgcolor="#ffcc00" border="0" cellspacing="1" width="98%"><tbody><tr><td align="left" bgcolor="#e1e1bf">3-13-MIN36 (OT: 00:16) Sam Meinhart pass completed to RB Ciatrick Fason for 3 yards. Tackled by CB Devin Hester, assisted by OLB Warrick Holdman. Fason gained 5 yards after the catch.</td></tr> <tr><td align="left" bgcolor="#000066">Start of overtime 2.</td></tr> <tr><td align="left" bgcolor="#e1e1bf">4-10-MIN39 (OT: 15:00) Chris Kluwe punted 53 yards. Devin Hester returned the kick 15 yards to the CHI23. Tackled by Nick Harper.</td></tr></tbody></table>

would there be one? i honestly dont know if it would continue like it was just the end of the 3rd quarter (which would be my guess), or end the current drive and flip a coin and start over.

I don't think there would be a coin toss here. I think the game just continues as if starting a new quarter.

Like some have said, I think there is only one coin toss and that's at the start of OT. From there, it's like a regular game.

I believe in the NFL that is how it is. In the playoffs there is one coin flip to start the 1st overtime. Then the game continues until the one team scores.

oops, my mistake, they do just switch sides. I thought they had to do the coin flip again. Sorry about that.

I figured I post this here as well just in case:

Hey guys. I am having a problem. In an MP league I can export the stage files fine. But when I import the files from my export and other exports, it says "No import files in proper state and stage to import". I thought it may have been because the original file was created from 6.0a. I tried a new one from 6.0b and the same thing happened. I figured I sim a week in the test sim and still the same thing happened.

Any ideas if this is a bug and if not what I need to do to correct this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Another very minor bug...

Seattle just scored and is down by 3. They attempt the onside kick...

(4Q: 00:52) Josh Brown kicked off from the SEA30 and out of bounds. There will be a rekick.

Detroit: I formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, keying aggressively on the run.
1-10-SEA41 (4Q: 00:47) J.T. Atkins dropped to one knee for -2 yards.

Since there was to be a rekick and the very next play is Detroit taking a knee, that means there was no rekick on the extra point, right? (Is there still a rekick, or is the rule now that an onside kick out of bounds gives posession to the recieving team, meaning the text is off in the play-by-play?)

5. When a kickoff goes out of bounds between the goal lines without being touched by the receiving team, the ball belongs to the receivers 30 yards from the spot of the kick or at the out-of-bounds spot unless the ball went out-of-bounds the first time an onside kick was attempted. In this case, the kicking team is penalized five yards and the ball must be kicked again.

Minor: printing the Roster.

Font is not fixed width so the columns don't match up. I like to print to pdf a lot and the current method makes this useless.
