I love, love, *love* Black Friday! :D
I'm going to be one of those out there way early, this time at Circuit City so I can pick up a DS Lite and get a free accessory kit and replace my dying old model PS2 with a slimline PS2 and get a free wireless controller to boot!
Then it's on to the fun of shopping for other people cuz I <3 shopping and buying presents for people. In fact, I love it so much and do such a good job of it, people have me buy presents for other people for them. :D It's why the holiday season is my fave of the year.
So yeah, I'm real giddy right now, esp. since I don't have to work Black Friday this year! Mwhahahaha!!! (I have had to work it at Best Buy, Target, and Victoria's Secret, though... Target was the worst because Black Friday was my first day working there.)
Anyone else going? And what deals are you eying up if so? :)

I'm not going but I seriously considered going there first thing in the morning to take pictures. Kinda like a journalism-type of personal project... but I doubt my lazy butt will get up early enough for that.

Since the Best Buy thing is off, we're getting up at 2 to go to Las Cruces to pick up a laptop (hopefully) at Staples.

Dodgerchick: That'd have been fun :)
Raiders Army: I remember last year or a couple years ago when Best Buy had that low-end laptop at a real value price. My mom wanted it as an upgrade to her old laptop, so Dad and I swung through there about half an hour before it opened because he didn't want to stand in line for two hours. Sure enough, the line was backed up for a good half-mile or so already and there were only 15 laptops in the store.
So we wound up getting her a lot nicer one for just a little bit more money from Circuit City later in the day and I think it worked out better that way. Good luck with the Staples run! :)

I heard somewhere that there's a lot more Wiis out there than were available for either the 360 or PS3 releases, so maybe you'll have some luck getting one. :)

My mom goes every year. This year I made a deal with her that I can get a few x-mas things early so I don't have to wait. And all I'm talking is some fleece jackets and hoodies and shit like that because I have been freezing my ass off this year as I only have 1 hoodie and no jacket of any sort. Her wanting me to get up at 9:30 is a big problem that I'm going to have to fight through. I hope I can be back in bed by the afternoon.

0 for 3 today. Unfortunately, we found out that Staples was RIGHT NEXT to Best f'n Buy! That sucked bad. Everyone who was discouraged by the Best Buy line got in line for the Staples laptop (you know how word spreads). At 3:00 AM there were twenty people waiting in line. Ugh. We're just going to get the Dell special for $499 with free printer. Like your story, a little more expensive but it's also a lot nicer.

Any idea why Walmart.com is down?
Are they honoring their ads online? I know they have some early bird online only specials.

I love, love, *love* Black Friday! :DMe, too.
1. No work.
2. Guilt-free gaming most of the day, 'cause my wife usually hits the stores.
3. Christmas present for my mother magically appears, wrapped and ready to go, at the end of the day. Some years, I even know what it is before she opens it. ;)

I've seen you reference these laptop deals in various threads. Just out of curiousity, what were the actual deals?

Persistence might have paid off for anyone trying to get a BB deal. I was about 47th in line and every doorbuster ticket was still available to me at that line position.
