Is there a way to print the rosters where everything lines up? None of the columns are lined up and it is quite unreadable.

Is there a way to print the rosters where everything lines up? None of the columns are lined up and it is quite unreadable.I've seen a few people mention this, but I'm not sure what's going on. Mine line up perfectly, both in printing to a file, and directly to my printer:

When I try to set up my "Print to file" I get a message that I need a TTYRES.DLL file. What is that, where can I get it and where does it go?<O:p</O:p

When I print to file, it looks nice with notepad or Office, but I can't get it to post on here so neatly. How is that done?

Edit: :o The reference thread really is very handy.

Bigmak if you don't want to click on it (although there is lots of good stuff in there), copying your notepad file (after printing stats to a text file which is explained in the reference thread along with what I'm about to re-state) and putting a {code} before the text you pasted and {/code} after the text you are pasting with ['s replacing {'s will make it lineup nicely on here.

I would print up 2k4 on an HP printer, and it was always misaligned. Then, I got a new Dell printer, and it lined up perfectly. So, go figure. Perhaps the same with 2k7.

When I print to PDF the file prints in non fixed-width font and therefore doesn't line up. I love printing to PDF so I can print if I want but also view on the screen for most stuff.

Its the opposite for me. I can print to pdf and everything lines up. But if I print directly to the printer, nothing is in order. At least I can print the pdf to use.

I'm using Fineprint pdfFactory. Are you using Acrobat Distiller or something else? Maybe it's a setting in my pdf maker.

I'll check when I get home from work. It is definitely an adobe product. Not sure if it is distiller or pdf writer. Will let you know tonight

When I select Print I choose:

Printer Name - Adobe PDF
Type - Adobe PDF Converter

Not sure if this helps but its all the information I have

When I try to print, pdfFactory only shows me that Arial is the only font used in the print job. It isn't using Courier for some reason.

I have been searching for how to print to file in 2k7, including in the help file. Didn't seen anything. Can someone help please?

you have to create a printer using port Print to File. Then use the Generic Manufacturer and Generic / Text Only from the printers.

I can print to file and it shows up in fixed width font. But when I print right from the program to pdfFactory, it is in Arial. Odd.

Open up the file with notepad and make sure it's on courier new - regular font - size 10.

That should allow it to line up.

Well, it looks like I'm stuck with Printing to File. I just don't like it because it doesn't prompt me "where" to save and it just dumps it in the FOF2K7 folder. Not too big of a deal and I can live with it.

When you name the txt file, you can store it where you want - create a folder (c:\'whatever you want') and then when naming, type the file path & the name you want - it will save there.

(Not taking credit for this - someone else posted this in relation to the change tracker utility, but couldn't be arsed to search)

I figured it more or less worked that way, but I like the explorer window that comes up and remembers where you last saved. I guess i can create a simple folder right on C: to make it easier.

c:\fof

should suffice. I hate cluttering my c:\ with folders that don't belong. Makes me nuts, but beggars can only be choosers in that they have chosen to beg.

Ok, I have done this, but where does the file go. When I hit print, I don't get a dialog box for naming or where to save. I've searched my hard drive, but I can't locate it. What am I missing here.

DOLA:

Don't worry, I figured it out. You have to open in the port "file; print to file" and not "local; print to file."
