Cinderella and the Big 4 - Another Draft Pick Dynasty

I never got the Oakland dynasty off the ground so here we go again this time with v6.0c. I really like the Draft Pick Dynasty’s by Peregrine and mrsimperless and this is an attempt to come up with a new twist on the same format. I will each year track the development of the top-prospect from five pre-selected colleges from around the US. Each player will get an in-depth presentation before the combine. We will then take a look at them when the season is ready to start and again in the end of the year. I selected 4 of the power houses in college football and added an almost-Cinderella story from this year to the mix.

The 5 colleges selected are:
Ohio State<O:p</O:p
USC <O:p</O:p
Notre Dame<O:p</O:p
Texas<O:p</O:p
Rutgers

Lets get started. The first group of players ready to join the big league looks like this.

2007 NFL Combine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
Lewis Gress made it big in college due to his hole recognition skills and the help from a great O-line. In the big league that is not enough and scouts agree that he is very overrated. He is slow with no power and most teams will only see him as a 3rd-down back. He got some skills catching the ball but an only 38% developed running back from Ohio State is a bit disappointing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
This might be interesting. The only 14% developed but very underrated Vinny Stevens might be one of the surprise storeys of this year’s draft. He got excellent accuracy and know how to read a defends. He only knows 7 formations and has trouble with 3rd down passing and don’t know how to run a two minute offense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
Arnold Jeffries had a terrible day at the combine when he walked in to a 4.83 40-dash and possible dropped from being a day 1 pick. He is 63% developed but the scouts still see him as overrated and they also have problems with his high Vola rating (78). His total lack of speed both inside and outside is in some way compensated by his elusiveness but he looks like another RB that will disappoint at draft-day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
This is a big guy. With his 306 pounds he is the heaviest of all the DEs in the 2007 draft. Despite that he managed to put up some above average running times. He is not that strong his size considered and not that smart either. Scouts around the league see him as overrated and he is just 31% developed. He will be good against the run but have major flaws in pass rush and play diagnosis.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RG Ronald Newton
After all the big schools struggle to send strong candidates to this years draft, Rutgers send the highest rated of the 5 players we will follow from the 2007 draft.
By fare the best rated G coming in to this years draft with an adjusted rating of 6.9 and the 6th highest rated player overall in the draft. He was also one of the most developed (46%) and had the best 40-dash and agility test of all guards at the combine. Some scouts have been concerned about this lack of size (6-3, 315) and blocking strength.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
2007 draft: Round 4 pick 3 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 23/40
Rating post camp: 22/38
No running back was drafted in the first round of the 2007 draft and Lewis Gress had to wait to day two to get his name called. When the Cardinals selected him he was the 7th running back to be drafted. He received $440.000 in signing bonus and a 350.000 salary in the first year of his 4-year contract. His first ever training camp didn’t go to well but it was still enough to earn him the 3rd spot in the depth chart behind “The Edge” and JJ Arrington.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Ratings post camp: 12/50
Vinny Stevens never became the draft day winner many people expected. The teams were scared of his low development and he dropped all the way to the 5th round where the Pats saw him as a possible backup for Brady. He signed a 3-year rookie contract with a small bonus but didn’t get to see any action in the pre-season games. It will hopefully not be long before he moves up to second in the Patriots depth chart.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Ratings post camp: 32/43
Arnold Jeffries was the 5th running back selected in the draft and turned up to mini-camp with a 34/43 rating. He signed a 3-year deal with the Texans as one of 4 active running backs. He saw some playing time in pre season and also got to fell what the big guys hit hard as he sustained a minor elbow injury.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating post camp: 21/47
Another of our prospects with a terrible draft day. It was still enough to make it thru 49ers camp and a place on the active roster for opening day. If he gets any playing time it will only help to highlight the poor state of the San Francisco franchise.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating post camp: 54/72
Denver had a terrible 2006 with only 6 wins and needed to make a move. They really liked what they saw of Newton in the combine and when he was still on the board at #7 they made a deal with the Titans to move up and get him. The price was a 5th and a 6th round pick in this years draft and the #1 overall pick in the 2009 draft. The fans in Denver loved the move and after the pre season he was ready to start on the Broncos O-line. He was also ready to spend some money as he got almost $10mil in signing bonus on his $18mil 5-year contract.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
2007 draft: Round 4 pick 3 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 23/40
Rating season end: 23/38
It took 11 games until Lewis finally saw his first NFL action when he got to carry the ball once for 2yds. When Arrington got injured in the end of the season Gress moved up to second behind James and finished the regular season with 26 carries for 52yds and a TD in the final game of the season against Seattle. He also had a TD in the first round playoff win over Atlanta but was back on the bench in the loss to the Giants in the division game. He had some minor knee trouble after the few games he played.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Ratings season end: 12/50
It was not a big surprise that Vinny Stevens didn’t see any action in his rookie season. Brady once again took the Patriots deep in to the playoffs and Stevens could only sit and learn and hope he one day would get a chance.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 33/43
Ratings season end: 32/43
From day one Jeffries was named the backup for Domanick Davis in Houston and he preformed very well in his rookie season. He was handed the ball 114 times and that resulted in 451yds, 4 fumbles and 3 TDs. He finished the season with a respectable 3.96yds pr att. and also converted on 50% of his 3rd down attempts. On top of that he also had 81yds receiving with 2 TDs more.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 22/47
It says a lot about the 49ers team that Herrick got to start 6 games in the 2007 season. On the 480 times he was on the field in 2007 he recorded 15 tackles, 8 assists and 2 sacks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season end: 66/72
One time player of the game and twice player of the week mention was the result for Newton in his rookie season with Denver. He did not allow a sack all season but only had 17 KRB on 70 KRO. He did have some minor injuries and missed two games but none of them was serious and will not affect him in the future. He looks to be just the impact Denver needed on the O-line next to George Foster (85/85) but they still have 3 starters with a rating below 25 and that was part of the reason for another 4-12 season for Cutler and Denver.

2008 NFL Combine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Quinn Hunsinger
Not a very strong year for Ohio State players. Only 6 entered the draft and none of them had an adjusted rating above 5.0. Hunsinger is just rated the 16th best quarterback coming in to the draft and is only 17% developed. He only knows 8 formations, is slow and the scouts still see him as overrated. It looks very possible that the Ohio State top rated player will not be drafted this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
The same might very well be the case for the top-rated Trojans player Buddy Franz. With an adjusted rating of 4.1 he have a lot of players in front of him on the teams draft board. He didn’t impress any scouts at the combine with a bad 40-dash time (4.52). He is strong but is also one of the smallest cornerbacks in the draft (5-7).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/ncaaf/teams/1/80x60/nnx.gif http://images.sportsline.com/images/collegefootball/labels/ND.gif
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
Despite being very overrated there is no doubt that Terrell Hardy will be picked in this year’s draft. As the 10th ranked DE it might not be on the first day but a 48% developed player with average skills all over the board will have a future in the NFL. All his combine scores was in the top 1/3 without being outstanding but some teams might drop him down the board due to his lack of size (6-3, 262).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
From the Longhorns we get another very overrated player. The 35% developed John Schulz is the 7th highest rated RB in the draft with a 5.8 adjusted rating. He had the best position drill of all running backs in the draft but was very average in the rest of the combine. He got average breakaway speed but his total lack of elusiveness is a huge concern.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Derrick Strong
Once again it looks like that Rutgers might be the team with the best draft prospect. Yes Derrick Strong is very overrated but he is still 51% developed and the highest adjusted rated (6.4) offensive tackle in the draft. He did very well in the combine and that will help the scouts that were concerned about his high Vol-rating (87).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
2007 draft: Round 4 pick 3 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 23/40
Rating post camp: 22/36
The Cardinals did all the could to get the most out of Lewis Gress. He was sent to NFL Europe to develop but it didn't help any and before the start of the new season his rating was even lower then when he was drafted. The Cardinals took the consequence of that and used their first round draft pick on a new running back. That left Gress as the 4 th running back on the roster and before the first games of the season he was put on the inactive roster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Quinn Hunsinger
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft : 7/40
Rating post camp : 7/35
I have never seen this before!! St Louis Rams selected the first quarterback in the 2008 draft with the 23 rd pick in the 4th round. That's pick number 119!! and it was not Hunsinger. As expected his name was never mentioned during the draft days and he joined Patrick Ramsey, Tim Rattay and others in late FA. The Ravens surprised many when they signed him to a minimum deal before training camp. He got the chance to prove him self during camp but things went back to normal when they released him again when the roster was trimmed down from 60 before the start of the season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Ratings post camp: 12/46
The Patriots decided to pick up 15-year veteran Gus Frerotte as backup to Tom Brady before season start and that ended all hope for Vinny Stevens to see any action this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/27
Rating post camp: 18/28
Right now it looks very unlikely that we will ever see Buddy Franz play in the NFL. Undrafted and without any skills that suggests that a team will be willing to take a gamble on him it was no surprise that he went thru the entire pre-season without an offer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Ratings post camp: 40/51
Arnold Jeffries had and excellent off-season and more and more looks like a future starter in the NFL. For this season she is still behind Davis in the line-up but with a solid performance this year the Texans will sooner or later have to choose between the two.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft : 21/34
Rating post camp: 21/34
He dropped all the way to the 5th round before being saved by Green Bay Packers. That made him the 11th DE to be drafted in 2008. Unfortunately for him the Packers also used their first round pick (3rd overall) on a LDE. On cut-day before season start Terrell Hardy was on the bubble but just made the cut. On opening day he was moved to the inactive roster and is now the player on the Green Bay roster with the lowest future potential.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating post camp: 23/47
Herrick only improved slightly in his first year in San Francisco. They didn't pick up any new DEs in the off-season so he will retain his place among the 46 active players and once again see some action this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft : 31/51
Rating post camp: 33/52
With six running backs drafted in the first round alone John Schulz climbed the draft board and was selected as the 36 th players overall. Mike Bell will still be the starter in Denver on opening day by a very small margin but Schulz will absolutely see some action this season and he got the biggest upside of all running backs on the Broncos roster.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating post camp: 72/73
It didn't take long for Ronald Newton to develop in to a solid NFL starter. Before the start of the 2008 season he is almost completely developed and now have all the skills that made him a top-10 draft pick. He is the 4 th highest rated guard in the NFL and if he can stay healthy the entire season he will be a force to recon with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by 2006 Super Bowl Champions Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 37/52
By the slightest of margins we get one of our selected players drafted in the first round. It was the 2006 Super Bowl champs Jacksonville Jaguars who took Derrick Strong with the last pick in the first round. They won the title after a strong performance by the running backs in the 27-10 win over Washington Redskins. Strong was switched from LT to RT and will be the only of our 5 players from this years draft to start in week 1.

Gress had a 2008 he wants to forget quickly. He was on the field for only 150 plays all season and didn’t get to carry the ball a single time. He did get to catch 3 balls for an “impressive” 11yds but also managed to injury his ankle without even playing. He looks like a player that could be used as a 3rd down back by now but he must be praying that the Cardinals don’t want to give JJ Arrington a new contract next season.<o:p></o:p>

2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season end: 41/51
Arnold Jeffries didn’t have the breakthrough season he hoped for. In the 12 first games of the season he carried the ball 67 times for 249yds and had just 6 catches for 21yds. In week 13 he re-injured the elbow he also had trouble with in the 2007 pre-season and spend the remaining of the season on the inactive list.<o:p></o:p>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating season end: 22/34<o:p></o:p>
Was active for 2 games and was allowed on the field for a total of 52 plays. He recorded 3 tackles and not must more can be asked for by a player with his skills.<o:p></o:p>

2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 24/47
This year he didn’t get to start any games but was dressed for all 16. In the limited action he saw he recorded 6 tackles, 4 assists and 2.5 sacks.<o:p></o:p>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<o:p></o:p>
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 37/52<o:p></o:p>
John Schulz proves that they still know how to draft running backs in Denver. Mike Bell might have been the starter but Schulz started the season by rushing for 97yds on 14 attempts as the backup and won player of the game in week 1. He kept it going from there and ended up as the teams leading rusher with a total of 771yds and 2 TDs in his rookie season. He did get to start 3 games and also had 192yds receiving. The team took one of the AFC Wild cards and won over the Chiefs in the first round before loosing to the Patriots the week after. In the two playoff games Schulz rushed for 54 and 35 yards.

RG Ronald Newton <o:p></o:p>
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season end: 84/84 <o:p></o:p>
His ratings continue to raise and he is now the 8th highest rated O-line player in the league with an 84/84 rating. That is very impressive but with ratings like that a BPct of 29.4 is just not good enough. In his 32 NFL starts he has only allowed 3 sacks and have been voted PoG once. He is under contract until 2011 and the Broncos must fell happy about that.<o:p></o:p>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<o:p></o:p>
RT Derrick Strong<o:p></o:p>
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by 2006 Super Bowl Champions Jacksonville Jaguars<o:p></o:p>
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 45/52<o:p></o:p>
Derrick Strong has the right to be tired after his rookie season. He walked straight in to the defending Super Bowl team and was the starter from day one. He did allow 5 sacks but that was on over 450 pass plays. His numbers also shows 13 KRB and 49 KRB. It didn’t go to well for the team as the defending champions only won 5 games all season and finished last in the division.

To give people a feeling of what is happening in the league with the teams not featured in the three yearly write-ups I will try to make some “Team/Player snapshots”. It will try to pick out interesting storylines or game-features that are worth an extra look. Please feel free to ask question on specific teams or players you want to hear about.

Team snapshot

http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/nfl/teams/1/80x60/ind.gif http://images.sportsline.com/images/nfl/labels/IND.gif
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The 2006 season was only 4 weeks old when disaster hit in Indianapolis. In a game against the Jets, Peyton Manning took a serious hit to the head. He stayed in the game and completed 28 of 39 passes for 413yds including 4 TDs and a pass rating of 140.2. On the flight home after the game he started to throw-up and before the flight managed to get back on the ground he went in to a coma. He woke up 3 days later but it was clear that his football career was over and even before a new Super Bowl Champ had been crowned he retired from his hospital bed.
This of cause left the Colts in a terrible shape. Not only did they take a huge cap-hit from Manning’s huge contract but I also left them without anyone to throw the ball. They signed Sage Rosenfels who was released by the Texans the week before and he was named the Colts new starter. He did a fantastic job and finished the season with a 7-6 record with a pass rating over 120 in five of the games. The 10-6 record was enough to win the division but they lost the wild card game to the Steelers (who went on to win the Super Bowl).
The 2007 season Indianapolis finished 8-8 with journeyman Joey Harrington as the quarterback. Before the 2008 season they brought inn Michael Vick on a 3-year $6mil deal. He had lost his job to Aaron Brooks in Atlanta due to injury and the signing was a bit of a gamble. It paid off and Vick took the Colts back to the playoffs with a 9-7 record. In the playoffs Vick had a hot-streak with 3 straight games with a pass rating over 100 and the team was ready for the 2008 Super Bowl.
They never had a chance against a great Bears team and were held to just 9 first downs. Vick only completed 15 of 33 passes and could only watch as game MVP Cedric Benson (169yds rushing and 2 TDs) raised the Lombardi trophy.

2009 NFL Combine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/sp/v/ncaaf/teams/1/80x60/oob.gif http://images.sportsline.com/images/collegefootball/labels/OHST.gif
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FL Leland Leighton
He just makes it in to the top-20 of wide receivers ready for this years draft with his 4.5 adjusted rating. He is one of the smarter receivers in the draft and he will need that because with his 4.64 40-dash he will not be able to out-run a lot of cornerbacks and he is also lacking the strength to fight them off. He is 43% developed but most scouts also call him overrated. On the positive side his is known to run some very solid routes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
Moe Bishop looks to be the first of the USC players with a chance to start a game in the NFL. With a solid 5.4 adjusted rating he is the 7th best rated CB in the draft. He had a good position drill and a very good 40-dash. Considered his size his is very strong and he enter the league 48% developed. He will have to join a team playing zone defends and when looking at his scouting report is not difficult to understand why some call him very overrated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
Leroy Conger is another average player coming out from Notre Dame. He is one of the most developed defensive tackles to enter the draft (58%) but his scout report leave a lot to be desired. He is rated below average in all categories and didn’t do anything at the combine to change that perception. He had an acceptable Sole-test and is one of the top-15 strongest DTs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
It’s the first time we see a FB in this dynasty and we get the best in his class. He had a great combine and was not out of the top-3 in any of the tests. With an adjusted rating of 5.2 and 44% developed he is a safe pick and might even be a starter in his rookie season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
The 15th highest rated quarterback in the 2009 draft is Daniel Tilson from the Scarlet Knights. His scouting report is all over the place but the scouts see him as underrated. He knows 10 different formations and is 26% developed and comes with a very high Vol rate (80). His combine was nothing special but he did have a good position drill. In his college career he struggled with accuracy, timing and reading defences.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
I was not planning to follow players from other then the pre-selected schools but when the top ranked player in the daft is named Will Ditka, the story is just to good to let pass. The player from Nebraska enters the draft with a 7.3 adjusted rating and dominated at the combine. His scouting report looks great with his only real weakness being the none-important timing and the scouts still thinks he is underrated.
Despite all the great ratings he got two problems. He is only 13% developed and with his 6-1, 198 he is the smallest quarterback to enter the draft.

2009 NFL Season start:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
2007 draft: Round 4 pick 3 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 23/40
Rating season start: 20/35
The off-season quickly became a nightmare for Lewis Gress. The Cardinals not just decided to extend J.J. Arrington’s contract for another year but they also signed FA Travis Henry from the Bengals. That left no room for Gress and he was released before training camp. He did not get any other offers and was unsigned when the 2009 were ready to start. .
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Quinn Hunsinger
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 7/40
Rating season start: 7/32
Another off-season of nothing for Hunsinger. The once so popular quarterback from Ohio State is quickly becoming yesterday’s news.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FL Leland Leighton
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 11 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 16/36
Rating post camp: 17/36
The Seahawks used their last pick in the 2009 draft to select Leland Leighton but already on draft day it looked like a long shot that he would make the final roster. Darrell Jackson, Hines Ward, Deion Branch and Brandon Stokley were all in front of him in the depth chart. When he didn’t see any action in the pre-season games it was pretty obvious what would happen and before the season started he was part of the Seahawks 53-player cuts and became yet another Ohio State top-prospect letdown.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season start: 15/42
The team still belongs to Tom Brady but Vinny Stevens got to play in all of the pre-season games. He is now the second most experience quarterback on the Patriots roster. During the off-season he also had time to sit down and work out a new 2-year deal worth $1.66mil.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/27
Rating season start: Retired
Buddy Franz becomes the first of “our” players to leave the league. He never got close to getting signed and decided to retire just before the start of the 2009 season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating post camp: 31/45
The future looks very bright for Mow Bishop. As a second round draft pick he got a sizeable signing bonus ($1.8mil, 3-year deal) and on the field he got mentor Jason Webster to learn him the ways around the NFL. The fans in New Orleans like him and when a truckload of injuries hit the Saints secondary Bishop suddenly found himself in the starting line-up for the season opener against Tampa Bay.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season start: 40/51
Arnold Jeffries had and excellent off-season and more and more looks like a future starter in the NFL. For this season she is still behind Davis in the line-up but with a solid performance this year the Texans will sooner or later have to choose between the two. He also reworked his contract for a new 2-year $1.75mil deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating post camp: 23/34
Managed to hang on to his roster spot in Green Bay until the final cut before season start. He is the 9th highest rated LDE among the FAs and his career looks uncertain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 22/29
Rating post camp: 24/30
The Lions used three picks in this years draft on defensive line players and Leroy was the last of them. He was in need of a monster training camp to have any chance to make the final team. Before even making it to camp he was cut by the Lions but was the invited to join the Bears training camp instead. They offered him a 1-year deal to minimum pay and he made the cuts and was one the active roster getting ready for the first game of the season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season start: 25/47
The 49ers decided to change defensive scheme before the 2009 season and with the new 3-4 defends their was no place for Spencer Herrick. He has the highest future rating of all DEs in FA so he might be lucky and get a call from a desperate team during the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 39/53
Schulz spend the summer in NFL Europe and that was all that was needed to move him to first in the Broncos depth chart for the 2009 season. He is now the starting running back in front of Bell and William Green. He still got some way to go before reaching his full potential but that might change fast with his new status as starter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 47/70
Karl Farr was the only FB on the Eagles roster before the start of late FA. He joins an assemblage of extremely talented offensive players in Philadelphia. He will do a lot of blocking for Edgar Browning who rushed for over 1300yds last year in his rookie season. The last week of the pre season he suffered a concussion that threatened his debut but despite the chance of re-injury he was scheduled to start week 1.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season start: 80/80
He just keeps getting better and is now the 7th highest rated O-line player in the league. The only bump in the road for Newton before the start of the 2009 season is his conflict with the teams new offensive line leader. Justin Hartwig arrived from Miami right before training camp and the two have a hard time getting along.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by 2006 Super Bowl Champions Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 45/45
His rating took a hit during the off-season but as the only RT on the roster he saves his place in the starting line-up. He also signed a new 3-year contract worth $4.85mil that will pay him a $2mil base salary in 2011.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp:
Just two picks away from being Mr irrelevant Tilson was picked up by New England. Gus Frerotte had not agreed on a new contract before the draft and the Patriots decided to gamble that Tom Brady would stay healthy all season. If he goes down during the season the Patriots only have two young quarterbacks with a current rating below 20 available (Tilson and Stevens).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 23/72
It was not a big surprise that Ditka was the #1 overall pick but it was a surprise that he went to Buffalo. They gave up a first and second round pick in 2010 and a 1st round pick in 2011 to get the #1 pick from Dallas. The Cowboys don’t have a franchise quarterback but apparently didn’t like the quarterbacks in this year’s draft. Of the 4 first picks in this year’s draft, three of them were quarterbacks. Buffalo will start the season with Kelly Holcomb as the quarterback but with Ditka sitting on a $33mil (5-year) rookie contract he will not have much leeway.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress
2007 draft: Round 4 pick 3 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 23/40
Rating season end: 20/35
Nobody wanted to use Gress and 2009 was a throw-away year for the former Ohio Stat top running back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Quinn Hunsinger
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 7/40
Rating season end: 7/32
Another season without any action for Hunsinger and it will be a surprise if he don’t retire after the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FL Leland Leighton
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 11 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 16/36
Rating season end: 17/36
And that completes the strikeout for the Buckeye players. Leighton also sat out the entire 2009 season and that means that the best Ohio Stat player entering the draft the three previous years is not playing this year and is quickly on the way out of the league.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season end: 15/42
Congratulation to Vinny Stevens on becoming the first of our selected players to get a Super Bowl ring. The only thing he had to do was sit on the bench and watch Tom Brady take them to the Super Bowl where they beat the Giants 23-20.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating season end: Retired
Career stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating season end: 41/45
The highlight in Moe Bishops rookie season came in week 2 when he had his first NFL interception when he picked off Tom Brady. He got to start a total of 9 games and was dressed for 12. 27 tackles and 8 passes defended was his final stats line for his rookie season. He developed very nicely during the season and with a few expected retirements in the Saints secondary next year he looks to be a starter next season. The Saints lost 5 of the last 6 games of the season and finished the season 7-9.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season end: 43/50
Jeffries was the backup for the 13 first games of the season until Domanick Davis ruptured his elbow tendon. That gave Jeffries the chance to start the last 3 games of the season. He ran for 77 and 81yds in the first two games before getting a severe hamstring pull in the last game of the season. He finished the season with 4.19yds pr carry and 4 TDs. He can already now start to look forward to a 3-way fight for the starting job next season. Houston lost the last 7 games of the season and finished the season 5-11.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating season end: 23/34
Nothing happened for Hardy this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 22/29
Rating season end: 24/30
Despite his poor ratings Chicago had Conger dressed for the 14 first games of the season and he was on the field for 185 plays. He had 6 tackles and recovered a fumble. In week 16 his ratings finally catched up with him and the Bears, who lost the last 5 games of the season to finish 8-8, released him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 27/47
It only took 2 weeks before Herrick was back in the league. He was called up by Green Bay Packers to fill inn as a backup. When the season was over he had added another 2 starts to his career stats and the first trip to the playoffs. With an 11-5 record the Packers earned a wild card but lost in the first round to Seattle. Herrick only got on the field for 16 plays that game. He only got a 1-year deal with Green Bay ($530.000) but its not unlikely he will get called back for next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 44/53
John Schulz finished the season 8th among the running backs in the NFL with 1310yds. That was 390yds behind league leader Carnell Williams. The most impressive was his 4.71yds pr carry (4th in the league) despite his lack of elusiveness. He also had four 100+ yard games this year. When he was used as a receiver he had 54 catches for 369yds including 2 TDs. The team finished the season 8-8 and out of the playoffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating season end: 56/70
44 catches and 3 carries was all Karl Farr managed on offens in his rookie season. He also had 6 KRB and helped second year player Edgar Browning get back-to-back 1300+ yard rushing seasons. The team was on a late roll and won 5 of the last 6 games but that was all too late and the team finished last in the division with a 7-9 record.

This was the first time Newton had a BPct over 30. He only started 13 games this year and missed 3 games due to injury. Have already been injured 5 times since joining the NFL and that must concern the Broncos.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by 2006 Super Bowl Champions Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 46/46
Not a bad year for Derrick Strong. He started all 16 games with a 34.8 BPct. He helped the team back to the playoffs where they were out-played by the Patriots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating season end: 9/44
Daniel Tilson got a Super Bowl ring in his rookie season and now its downhill from here. He didn’t do much to earn it besides sitting on the bench behind Brady and Vinny Stevens.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating season end: 31/72
The Bills had the discipline to let Ditka sit all season and let Holcomb play. The choice was of cause easier because he played good football (91.9 pass rating). Ditka did get to play one game due to an injury to Holcomb. On the first drive of his career he moved the ball 53yds on 4 plays and finished it with a 33yds TD. He lost the game and was back on the bench the next week but people in Buffalo saw enough to be excited about the future for the franchise.

2010 NFL Combine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Rossevelt Gameau
Rossevelt Gameau joins the NFL draft as the 5th highest rated tackle with a 5.4 adjusted rating. He is one of nine Buckeye players to enter the draft and it finally looks like they have a player with a real chance to make it in the NFL. He is strong and also did well in the running drills at the combine and the scouts love that he is 46% developed. It’s obvious that he didn’t sped much time studying in college with his 13 score in the Sole-test.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Bucky Stuckey
Despite being the 15th highest rated running back in the draft with a 5.0 adjusted rating the scouting report for Bucky Stuckey looks absolutely awful. Yes he can pick up a blitz but hardly any of his other skills is over ¼ full for future potential. With his 238 pound he is the heaviest running back in this years draft but also one of the most developed (67%).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
No less then 22 players from Notre Dame can be found in the 2010 draft and with his 6.0 adjusted rating Benjamin Shaw is the best of them. He is one of three fighting Irish running backs in the draft all with an adjusted rating above 5.0. Some scouts say he is overrated but with a maxed elusiveness and hole recognition skills he looks like the real deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
If a team is looking for a run blocker they have just found their man in Devin Gonser. Unluckily for him he can do absolutely nothing else. He had the second best 40-dash (5.11) of all the offensive tackles in the draft but that was all he did well at the combine. With his 4.3 adjusted rating he got 25 players in front of him and his chances of getting drafted is slim.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDE J.J. Logan
J.J. Logan is with his 7.4 rating one of just five players in this years draft with an adjusted rating above 7.0. His scouting report is solid with great pass rush technique and run defends. The scouts have put a question mark with his play diagnosis and his high Vol rating (88). He is not the most developed (46%) defensive player in the draft but he looks like a top-10 pick.
No less then 14 players from Rutgers is ready for the draft but Logan looks to be the only one with a realistic chance to be drafted.

LT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating post camp: 29/40
Before camp it was clear that Rossevelt Gameau would not have a chance to beat out Eric Winston for the place in the starting line-up as LT. If he can move to RT he will have a fair chance to make the team and even start. The training camp didn’t give him much and that will leave him as a backup for the Texans but still on the active roster.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season start: 15/41
Vinny prepare for another season on the bench behind Brady and do it with his 3rd new contract since he joined the team back in 2007 ($1.66mil, 2 years). The now 10-year veteran Tom Brady also got a new contract. For a new 3-year deal he gets $42mil in bonus alone and 18 more in salary.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Bucky Stuckey

There is no way now that Bucky will ever play a single snap in the NFL.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season start: 46/46
Domanick Davis will not be ready for the start of the season after last year’s injury. That means that Arnold Jeffries will be the start on day one but now he will also have to compete with Jerious Norwood who came over from Atlanta before the season. The Texans have still not decided in what direction to go and only offered Jeffries an extra year on his new contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: 2 GP, 0 GS, 3 Tckl
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 22/29
Rating post camp: 22/30
Was not wanted during the off season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating post camp: 41/48
A total of five running backs were picked in the first round of the draft and Shaw was the 4th of them. The Browns already have three other running backs under contract and among them is Hardy Whitfield. With over 2500 total yards in his two first seasons and his 84/84 rating Shaw have a tough job in front of him if he wants to see any action. He will need to make the most of the opportunities he will get as possible second in the depth chart.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season start: 32/47
The Packers apparently liked what they saw from Herrick because they didn’t waste any time calling him back for another season. This year the will pay him $670.000 and he might even have a chance to be the starter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 50/54
John Schulz rushed for 1310yds last season and the Broncos still decided to use their first pick in the draft (13th overall) on another running back. The 61/61 Don Boone will be the starter in Denver and Schulz will go back to being a backup. On the positive side he did get a new 2-year deal worth $3.8mil.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 60/72
During the off season Karl Farr is asked to take a pay-cut by the Eagles front office and he agree to change his rookie contract to a new 3-year $3.85mil deal. He is now the 3rd highest rated FB in the league. He is still the only FB on the roster and will get plenty of playing time again this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 15/38
Rating post camp: 12/33
This will properly be the last we see to Devin Gonser before he retires.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season start: 79/79
The Broncos asked Newton to move from right to left guard before this season. He made the switch without any problems and now rules the left side together with George Foster. He has still not re-worked his rookie contract and if he ever hits FA he will be a very wealthy man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by 2006 Super Bowl Champions Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 46/46
Derrick Strong is not a happy camper this year. The Jaguars brought inn RT Marcus Johnson from the Vikings during the off season and he won the starting job during the pre season. Strong is now back on the bench as a backup and it didn’t make it any better that the team front office asked him to take a pay-cut. He is now disgruntled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp: 8/33
His rating keeps dropping but he is still the 2nd backup for the Super Bowl Champs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating post camp: 56/78
He was moved to LDE the day he arrived in camp and it worked fine. He will be the starter and the fans of cause love him. Many scouts have him on top of the list of possible defensive rookies of the year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 30/70
The Bills just made a stupid move this off season. With his 30/70 rating Ditka might not be ready to start just yet but was it really necessary to go out and sign Holcomb to a new 3-year, $23.5mil deal with over $15mil in guarantied bonus money? Ditka did get some practise inn during the pre season games without much to report.

LT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft:[(b] Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating season end: 34/40
Gameau did not appreciate much being a backup and is an angry man after the 2010 season. He was dressed for all 16 games and was also on the field every week but 235 plays in an entire year were not enough for him. On those plays he had 7 KRB and allowed 2 sacks. The player he backed up was rewarded a 5-year contract during the season so Gameau better learn to be a backup or learn to play RT instead.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[B]QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season end: 15/41
In week 13 of his 4th season with the team Vinny Stevens final got a chance to play. In a blow-out win (35-9) over the Colts Stevens was allowed on the field late in the 4th quarter. It didn’t go very well. 7 attempts with 4 completions for a grand total of 9yds (longest 8yds). He also had an interception and finished with a 22.6 pass rating. The Patriots made the playoffs for the 5th year in a row.

CB Buddy Franz

Rating post draft: 18/27

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating season end: 47/47
Bishop was the starter at left corner in New Orleans this year but he struggled. In week 7 was injured the first time with a minor groin injury that sidelined him for one week. He was back for week 9 only to injury his knee. He played with the injury and got another twist in the same knee in week 11. In week 14 his season was finally over when he was hit in the same knee for the 3rd time. Luckily it doesn’t look to be a serious injury. His stats for the season were disappointing again with only 2 Int and 27 tackles in his 12 games played.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season end: 46/46
Davis was not ready for the season opener and Jeffries took full advantage rushing for 139yds and a TD. It didn’t help him and he was back on the bench in week 2 when Davis was ready. He was the backup for the next 10 games (missed 2 games with a hand injury) but was back as the starter again in week 16 and 17 when Davis injured his knee. Jeffries finished the season with a career high 741yds on 160 carries and 3TDs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34

RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions

Rating season end: 22/30
Looks to be the end of the road for Conger.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating season end: 42/48
Benjamin did not appreciate sitting on the bench and was disgruntled at the end of the year after only getting 67 rushing attempts all season. Instead of concentrating on the play on the field he spends the year building up a conflict with the backfield leader Dan Kreider. Shaw must hope to get out of Cleveland fast.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 36/47
Spencer Herrick was the starter for Green Bay at RDE all 16 games this season and played thru a minor knee injury. He recorded 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks and helped the team to a 10-6 record. That was not enough for a place in the playoffs as the Vikings and Cowboys took the wild cards with 10-6 and 11-5 records while the Buccaneers won the NFC South with just 8 wins.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 52/52
John Schulz lost his starting job to the new rookie in town. He was still dressed for all 16 games and rushed for over 600yds with 5TDs. He was mostly used as the 3rd down back but without much success as he only converted on 32% of his 52 attempts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating season end: 66/72
Not a good year for the Eagles. McNabb was injured in the first game of the season and the starting job was given to a nobody. Farr cached 31 passes for 140yds and helped out as a blocker the remaining time. He is well like by the tough fans in Philadelphia.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
2010 draft: Undrafted

Not much happened in Killdeer, ND this year for Gonser.

LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season end: 79/79
Congratulation to Ronald Newton after being selected All-League 1st team guard in his 4th year in the league. A 40.5 BPct and 52 KRS was a career high and he only allowed 6 sacks on over 900 plays. His ratings just keep raising and he is now the 3rd highest rated LG in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 46/46
Still livid at the end of the season. For the first time in his three year career he didn’t get to start a game. He was back-up for Marcus Johnson all season and was only on the field for 215 plays. He still got one year left on his rookie contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating season end: 8/33
Tilson have now been in uniform in a total of 3 games during his two first seasons with the team and this year he even got to dress for a playoff game. This year the team lost to the Bengals in the AFC title game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating season end: 66/78
31 tackles and 5 sacks in 16 game was not enough to earn J.J. Logan any awards in his rookie season. It was only good for a 5.7 TkPct but the fans still loves him despite the team finished last in their division.

QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating season end: 34/70
I have no clue what the Bills are doing (just like real life). In the two first games of the season Ditka was not even the first backup. Game 3 and 4 he was second in the depth chart behind Holcomb. He was back to 3rd again for week 5 to 9. In week 10 Kelly Holcomb (2-7) was finally benched and Ditka got to start. In the next five weeks he lead the team to wins over the league power house New England twice, a win over the Vikings, a win over the Lions and a loss to the Chiefs. That was not good enough for the Bills front office and he was back on the bench for week 16 and 17 only to see Holcomb go 1-1 and loss the a place in the playoffs.
None of these crazy moves was made because of injuries!!

It took 15 years but the San Francisco 49ers is finally back on top of the NFL after winning 40-10 over the Bengals in the 2010 Super Bowl. It was the 49ers first playoff appearance since 2002. They had to travel a long road to get their and it was close they didn’t even made it to the playoffs. 3 teams all finished with a 9-7 record in the NFC West but the 9ers came out on top. They beat the Rams in the last game of the regular season and that combined with the Cardinals losing four of their last 5 games was just enough. In the Wild Card game they beat the Vikings on the back of 151yds rushing by backup running back Roy Wynn. They won over the Bears in Chicago when Tony Parrish recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and after that the 49ers was unstoppable. They outscored their opponents 80-27 in the last two games (Giants and Bengals).

Thanks gbeats. I got a few more seasons written already. I didn’t find a way to print the player’s single season records but this is what Ditak managed in 2010

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
The first linebacker in our dynasty. A 5.6 adjusted rating is the highest among the 11 Ohio State players in the draft and second highest of the OLBs. He is nicely developed (53%) and his scouting report shows a good run defends and nice play diagnosis. He looks like he might be the first Ohio State player to be drafted in the first round in a long time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Jimmie Sievers
The Trojans send another useless quarterback to the draft. 9 formations, only 18% developed and a terrible scout report doesn’t leave him with much hope of playing in the NFL. An extremely high Vol rating (99) might cause some team to take a gamble drafting him but most likely he will never play football on the top-level again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
A good pass blocker and 31% developed. His strength is questionable and he is hopeless as a run blocker. This is what a backup looks like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Paul Maloney
Only 4 Longhorns players report for this years draft. Maloney is the 5th (tie) best running back in the draft with his 5.9 adjusted rating. He is the most developed (73%) but had a terrible position drill score (10). His scouting report shows top ratings in 3rd down running, hole recognition and elusiveness while his speed looks to be a problem.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To keep the dynasty going I will only track four plays for each team at a time. I will not add any Rutgers players to the story before LG Ronald Newton, RT Derrick Strong, QB Daniel Tilson or LDE J.J. Logan is no longer in the league.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Carolina Panthers is in terrible trouble this year. Going in to the early FA they only got 12 players under contract and just $19mil in available cap space to put a team together. Before the season started the released 14 players but the real trouble is Jake Delhomme. In 2009 he got a new 3-year contract worth $53mil. This year the team decided to re-work the deal once again, this time $71mil for another 3-year. That means that Delhomme now have over $66mil in guarantied bonus money in his contract with over $30mil of them counting against this years cap. His total cap cost this season is $31.55mil and that is after his contract is reworked. The player with the second highest cap cost (after the contract is reworked but before FA) is the Titans RDE Kyle Vanden Bosch with a $24mil cap hit (1mil salary and 23.14mil bonus).
It was also a bit sad to see that only 3 of the leagues top-20 free agents was resigned by their teams and that only 5 teams decided to use their franchise tag.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating post camp: 40/40
Rossevelt Gameau was called inn to the Texans front office and told that he next season would be playing RT. When that was out of the way he was asked to go home and pack his bags and get ready to go to Europe for “summer camp”. He was still unhappy when he got back but lets see if not a place in the starting line-up this season will change that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating post camp: 33/50
Finally Ohio State managed to get a player drafted in the first round It was the Vikings who decided to gamble and used a first round pick on Scurlock. It didn’t turn out well and its questionable if he will be in the starting line-up when the season starts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season start: 15/40
The Patriots picked up Harrington and Cleo Lemon in FA that that didn’t leave any place on the roster for Stevens. He was released by the team that drafted him back in 2007 but was pick up a few days later by the Broncos. They gave him a 1-year minimum salary contract and now it suddenly looks like he will get his first NFL start. Jay Cutler injured his knee in the last pre season game and now Stevens is suddenly the highest rated quarterback on the roster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/27
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating post camp: 47/47
Not much happened for Bishop during the off-season. He is now the best rated cornerback in New Orleans. This year he has to put up some numbers and perhaps most importantly stay healthy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Bucky Stuckey
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/21
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Jimmie Sievers
2011 draft: Undrafted

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season start: 45/45
Jeffries have now passed Domanick Davis in both current and future potential and this might be his first season as a NFL starter. With his just 820.000 in base salary he might be the lowest paid starting running back in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 22/29
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating post camp: 40/46
Shaw agreed during the off season to rework his $12mil rookie contract to a new 3-year deal worth another $4.47mil. He will only make 470.000 in base salary this year but have been paid over $6mil in bonuses already in his short career. Not much have chance on the field. He is still a backup RB but will also play a bit special teams this year as a punt returner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating post camp: 16/39
Upshaw was handed 120.000 dollars in bonus and asked to come play for the G-men for the league minimum $23.500 pr game. He is one of three LTs on the Giants roster and it looks like they will keep him on the bench for the first season as inactive to let him get some time to adapt for the big league.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season start: 34/42
Spencer Herrick continue his journey around the NFL. This year he was not needed in Green Bay but another team wanted his service. In the 9th round of FA the Cowboys came knocking on his door and offered him a new 1-year deal. This time the deal was worth over $1mil. He is only a backup but will see playing time as the only extra DE in the Cowboys 3-4 defends.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 48/48
John Schulz will be the backup in Denver for another season. He signed a new 2-year deal this year worth only $1.78mil. It’s a bit of a surprise that he don’t have more receiving yards then he have. He got excellent receiving skills (50/66/79/30) but have only catched 133 balls in his career for 802yds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 71/73
Now almost fully developed Karl Farr is ready to help McNabb for what will likely be his last season in Philadelphia. McNabbs contract will is up after this season and its questionable is the Eagles waste to give out big money once again for a 13-year veteran with rating in rapid decline (40/40). Karl just hopes that the team will run more plays that will get him involved this year. In his two first seasons he only had 2 rush attempts and 75 catches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 15/38
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Paul Maloney
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 26 by Baltimore Ravens
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating season start: 48/61
Paul Maloney is a man who knows what he wants. And he didn’t want a 5-year contract. He turned down the Ravens first attempt to sign him to a 5-year deal and instead agreed to a 4-year $10.37mil deal with $4.1mil being guarantied money. He picked up a minor foot injury in the pre-season but still impressed so much that he looks to be the starting running back in Baltimore this year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season start: 80/80
The Broncos did not want to risk loosing Newton after the season and sat down with his agent at the start of the season and worked out a new deal. They agreed on a deal that will keep Newton in Denver for the next 5 years and reward him just over $46mil for his trouble. When Newton check his bank account next time he will be able to see a nice $18.5mil waiting for him as that was the amount of the contract that was guarantied bonus money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 46/46
Things keep going in the wrong direction for Derrick Strong. This year he managed to hyperextend his knee in the last of the pre-season games and will miss the start of the season. This is the last year of his contract and his agent have already told the local newspapers that it’s doubtful that he will be willing to resign.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp: 8/31
With Stevens gone and Harrington and Cleo Lemon coming inn it was not a surprise that Tilson was also let-go. He was not as lucky as Stevens got get a second chance but will have to wait out the season and see if anyone wants he services. It looks doubtful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating post camp: 66/77
Logan reworked his contract during the off season to help the team free up more room under the cap. He looks to be one of the players the team wants to rebuild their franchise around as he is one of just three players with 5-year contracts. He is part of a scary strong defensive line where the players average over 60 points in current rating.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 34/70
This looks to be the year Will Ditka will finally be named the starter in Buffalo. He still got some development to do but with Holcomb as mentor that should work out fine. Ditka got two young receivers both with ratings above 50 to throw to and also have Kelly Washington to help out. If an average O-line can step up and protect him this might be an interesting year for the Bills team that have not been close to the playoffs in the last 5 years.

RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating season end: 44/44
Gameau started all 16 games for Houston in his second season. He finished the season with a team high 42.5 BPct on 17 KRB and allowed 7 sacks. Suddenly everything looks a lot better for Gameau and his attitude has just like that changed to content.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating season end: 34/50
Scurlock had a disappointing first season considered that the Vikings spent a first round pick to get him. He was only dressed for 10 games and on 93 play recorded 8 tackles and a sack. In the seven last games of the season he was made inactive and could only watch the team loss five of the last six games to finish 4 games behind division winners Green Bay Packers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating season end: 15/40
This was a very interesting year for Vinny Stevens. He started the year with being cut by the Patriots only to be signed by Denver and being named the starting quarterback for the season opener. The first start of his career was against Oakland and he did well completing 15 of 19 passes for 108yds. He had an Int but it was still enough for a win. In week two he started again and lost to the Bears. In week 3 Jay Cutler was back from injury and Steven was back on the bench. Their he stayed for 2 weeks before being released before the week 6 games. Before week 9 Buffalo contacted him. They brought him inn for two weeks before he was released again. His last stop of the season was with the Eagles who picked him up in week 12 and kept him on the roster for the remaining of the season on a 1-year contract.

CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating season end: 50/50
He didn’t manage to stay healthy all year but he only missed two games and none of the injuries was serious. In the 14 games he started he didn’t managed to produce much. He only defend four passes (no Int) and also had 35 tackles. The fans love him but the coaches cant be too happy about what this guy brings to the team.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season end: 45/45
Jeffries started all 16 games for Houston this year and just managed to get over 1000yd. That made him 16th on the league-rushing list that was won by Cleveland’s Hardy Whitfield with 1760yds (378 att). Jeffries had 7 TDs and that was enough to lead the team in scoring (non-kicker). Texans finished the season 6-10.

RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating season end: 41/46
Its difficult to complain about playing time when the guy in front of you leads the league in rushing. Shaw ran the ball 74 times for 302yds and 4TDs. It’s the second year in a row he average over 4yds pr carry. He also had 32 punt returns without much success.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants
Rating post draft:
Rating season end: 17/39
He was only left inactive for two weeks before he was called for because of injuries. His first start came in week 14 and he got another in week 17. The result for the season was 3KRB on 5 KRO and no sacks allowed. Not much more can be asked by a player with this skills-level.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 36/36
Spencer Herrick not only got to start 8 games for the Cowboys this season he also got himself as big shiny Super Bowl ring on his finger. He had another 4 sacks this year and now got 13.5 in his 5-year career. He picked up a minor shoulder injury in the Super Bowl but nothing that should keep the Cowboys from resigning him next season if they want to give him another chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 47/47
Despite not starting a single game for the Broncos this season John Schulz now leads the team in career rushing attempts, rushing yards and yards pr carry. This year he carried the ball a career low 103 times for 532yds and an impressive 5.17yds pr att but only a single TD. He had more TDs catching the ball (2) but just 150yds on 19 catches.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating season end: 74/74
13 KRBs is more then what he had the two first seasons combined. He also had 36 catches for 179yds and a TD. The team had to play the last 6 games of the season without McNabb and finished the year with a disappointing 6-10 record.

RB Paul Maloney
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 26 by Baltimore Ravens
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating season end: 50/61
It was a busy rookie season for Paul Maloney. Unluckily most of the rushing he did was to see the team doctor with one of the three injuries he picked up during the season. He did have time to start 11 games but only rushed for 476yds and 4TDs with an un-impressive 3.01yds pr carry.

LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season end: 80/80
For the second season in a row Newton is selected All-League first team guard. In his 5-year career he now also got 3 PoG awards and 21 PoW mentions. He once again had an over 40% BPct and only allowed 2 sacks all season. He is now tied for 7th in league history with his 186 career KRB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 46/46
This was Derrick Strongs last season with the Jaguars and its unlikely that he will re-sign with them next year even if they wanted him back. He is angry about only getting to start 1 game all season and he was on the field for a career low 180 plays.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots

LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating season end: 76/77
It didn’t take long for Logan to max out his ratings and the fans in St Louis love him. This year he started 15 games and recorded 35 tackles. For the second year in a row he also had 5.0 sacks. Despite he great ratings he has still never had more then 6 tackles in a single game and has only been mentioned 3 times in PoW talks.

QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating season end: 49/70
Not a great first season as a starter for Will Ditka. A 78.5 pass rating with just 9 TDs and 7 interceptions in his 13 starts was not what people in Buffalo were looking for. He missed 3 games due to injury and passed for just 2036 in the games he started. Since 2006 the team have still never finished a season above .500. Ditka did get 5 PoG but people are already starting to question his “slow” development.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NT Bill Roberts
Bill Roberts is a 50% developed NT with a 5.4 adjusted rating. He is slow and weak and very undersized for a NT (5-11, 278). He can defend the run but not much else and the scouts call him very overrated. In a 4-3 defends he will likely be moved to LDT.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LCB Jamal Gelbaugh
11 players from USC will try to get in to the NFL thru the 2011 draft. Gelbaugh is the second highest rated CB this year and the highest rated among the 4 players we will follow from the 2012 draft. He is fast but as one of the smallest CBs in the draft that is perhaps not a huge surprise. 68% developed and great scouting remarks for both run defends, play diagnosis and interceptions. He can both play in a man-to-man defends and zone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Tom Heim
The 4th highest rated OLB in the draft with an adjust rating of 5.6. He is big (6-4, 256) but still ran the 40-dash in 4.61. he is the strongest LB in the draft but his problem is that he is only 25% developed. His scout report looks fine all over and a team with time to develop him will get a good player in Tom Heim.

Only 7 longhorns players is ready for this years draft but we will not follow any of them as we already have 4 active players in the dynasty.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
Piniella is the first of the players to join this dynasty who decide not to participate in the combine. He only completed the Sole-test with the 5th (tie) highest score (48) in the entire draft and the highest among none O-linemen. He is nicely developed (52%) and he looks great against the run. He will not be able to play in a zone defends and his skills hitting the opponent is also questionable.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating post camp: 42/42
Looks like Gameau lost his starting job in Houston again this year. The team brought inn a new RT Rob Petitti and paid him $22mil for 6-year. Gameau is the highest rated of the none playing O-line players and will likely get to start some games this season as well when the injuries starts to hit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating post camp: 37/49
Scurlock reworked his rookie contract in the pre-season to bring down the cap-cost. The former first round pick is still not good enough to be in the starting line-up and that’s in a young group of linebackers where nobody has more then 4-years experience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Bill Roberts
2012 draft: Round 4 pick 31 by Cincinnati Bengals
Rating post draft: 19/34
Rating post camp: 23/35
He switched to RDT instead without any drop in ratings. He agreed to a cheep 4-year deal with less then $1mil in guarantied bonus money. The team has 9 active D-line players on the roster and Roberts is currently the lowest rated with the lowest future potential. He will need to fight hard to stay on the team all season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating post camp: 16/41
Only two other quarterbacks in FA got more future potential then Vinny. Still nobody asked for him during the pre-season. Not even the team that drafted him, New England, who starts the season with 40 rookies on the team and Tom Brady out with a knee injury.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/27
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating post camp: 50/50
Bishop did not get a new contract from the Saints who were tired of his high rating but poor play. Four different teams all offered him one-year deals worth less the $1mil and the “lucky” team to get him was the Redskins. The fans still loves him and maybe he can do better as a backup then as a starter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Bucky Stuckey

LCB Jamal Gelbaugh
2012 draft: Round 1 pick 17 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 34/55
Rating post camp: 32/49
The Seahawks got trouble with Jamal Gelbaugh and his agent Jay Bennett. They tried to agree on a deal twice before training camp without coming to an agreement. That didn’t help his ratings. They then tried three times during the pre-season still without any luck. When the team got ready to board the flight to Arizona for the first game of the season Gelbaugh was still not signed and had to stay home. The strange thing is that they have offered him the same 4-year $12.8mil deal six times now.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating post camp: 38/38
The Texans signed Jeffries to a huge new contract worth $14.5mil. Unluckily for him most of the money is back loaded to the end of the 5-year contract and he will likely never see them. Only $2.5mil was in guarantied bonus money. On the field the Texans now have four running backs with a current rating between 30 and 40 and it’s a coin flip who will be the starter this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: N/A

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating post camp: 38/43
Shaw was this year named the Browns backfield leader. It will not earn him any more playing time He was a first round draft pick in 2010 and have still not started a game and unless some major injuries hit the Browns this will not be the year either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants
Rating post draft:
Rating post camp: 17/38
Upshaw is lucky to still be on a team this year. His ratings are not getting any better and several players in FA got fare better both current and future ratings then him. This year he will start the year on the inactive roster but if the Giants need a LT to play during the season I doubt it will be Upshaw.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Tom Heim
2012 draft: Round 1 pick 18 by Indianapolis Colts
Rating post draft: 22/68
Rating post camp: 21/61
Another player who missed camp this year due to two turned down contracts. He turned down two offers for 5-year contracts and finally settled on a four-year deal worth $13mil with almost half of it in bonuses. Due to the missed training camp he looks a bit rusty and will likely start the season on the bench.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating post camp: 37/37
This year its Baltimore who get the services of Spencer Herrick. A $1.1mil deal for a single year and he have still not made over $4mil since joining the league 6 seasons ago and he have played every season. The Ravens got a strong D-line this year and Herrick will not see much action this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 48/48
Schulz signed a new 2-year deal worth $2mil in the first week of FA. In the second pre-season game he goes down with what is first called a serious biceps injury. Its later diagnosed as a torn biceps muscle and his season is over. The teams backfield leader is ruled out for 17 weeks and is put on IR and will not start a game for the 3rd straight season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 75/75
$4.5mil in bonus money alone is part of Farrs new 3-year deal. That’s a lot of money for a player they hardly use and with McNabbs ratings now down to 37/37 it will be a long year in Phili. Karl Farr is now the highest rated FB in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 15/38
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Paul Maloney
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 26 by Baltimore Ravens
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating post camp: 49/59
The Ravens forced Maloney to take a pay cut after last years poor results. When he agreed he was handed the starting job but he will have to turn some of his fancy ratings in to numbers if he wants to remain the #1.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating post camp: 73/73
Newton broke his hand in a meaningless pre season game but luckily for the Broncos it doesn’t look serious and he will be ready for the season start.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 47/47
Strong had to wait 8 weeks in to the FA period to get offered a new contract. He got a 3-year deal worth $6.3mil (only $1.3mil in bonus) to play for the Panthers. He only started 1 game in the last two seasons in Jacksonville but looks to be the starting RT in Carolina this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: 1 Super Bowl ring
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating post camp: 71/76
30 rookies are ready to start the season for the Rams this year but “only” 5 of them looks to take a spot in the starting line-up. Logan is now the 7th highest rated DE in the league and all the Rams D-line players have a current rating between 55 and 85.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
2012 draft: Round 3 pick 3 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 30/51
Rating post camp: 36/51
The trouble from the combine is all forgotten and Piniella signed his rookie deal in the first attempt and even got a $1.2mil bonus on the 4-year deal. His scouting report now looks nice for a 3rd pick. The Lions is another of the young teams with 29 rookies under contract.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 48/69
The Bills now got 3 rookies with current ratings below 10 to backup Ditka so he better stay healthy. Going inn to his 4th season his rating is still not maxed out and right now it looks like the #2 pick from the same year Norman Turnbull (65/65) was the better pick early on in their careers.

RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating season end: 42/42
201 plays was all Rossevelt Gameau got during the 2012 regulars season. Only 3 KRB and 1 sack allowed was added to his personal record book. What he did get was a chance to go to his first ever playoff and a separated schoulder to the regular starter even gave him a chance to start a game. The game he was to start was the Super Bowl. The Texans lost a close game to New York Giants and Rossevelt was on the field for 47 of the team’s 60 total plays.

WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating season end: 39/49
After two seasons the first round pick is still without a start in Minnesota and his rating is moving up very slowly. Two minor injuries didn’t help his development any and 21 tackles was all he brought to the table this year
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Bill Roberts
2012 draft: Round 4 pick 31 by Cincinnati Bengals
Rating post draft: 19/34
Rating season end: 24/35
Bill was only on the active roster for 8 games and didn’t get any starts. Still he managed to get selected PoG in the final game of the season after a game with 2 tackles and 2 sacks. He also saw very limited action in the playoffs in his rookie season but the team lost to Houston in the conference semi-final round.

They never managed to agree on a contract. 11 times during the season the Seahawks showed Jamal Gelbaugh a 4-year $12.8mil contract and all 11 times he returned it un-signed. He was the only player from the 2012 draft not to sign a contract. He will re-enter the draft next season.

RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating season end: 38/38
They gave him a new $14mil contract before the season and then for the first time since 2008 Jeffries didn’t get to start a game. Instead he got his first trip to the playoffs. In the regular season he rushed for 417yds on just 89 attempts (4.69 avg) and had 5 TDs. He got 4 years left on his contract in Houston.

RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating season end: 39/43
Shaw got the three first starts of his career late in the season due to injuries. He had over 100 carries for the first time in his career and rushed for 380yds and reached the end zone 6 times. That now bring him over the 1000yds mark for his career but this year was also the first time his rushed for less then 4yds pr carry.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants
Rating post draft:
Rating season end: 17/38
He managed to stay on the team for a total of 13 weeks before finally being cut. In those 13 weeks he was in uniform for just 1 game and was only on the field for 11 plays. His career is now in serious trouble.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Tom Heim
2012 draft: Round 1 pick 18 by Indianapolis Colts
Rating post draft: 22/68

RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers

Herrick might only have started 32 games in his 6-year career but he have still managed 16 career sacks. He is also one of the few players in the league to have been in the playoffs with three different teams. This year he didn’t start and games but was dressed for 16 games including two playoffs games. He is a FA again next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 47/47
That bad thing was of cause that he missed the entire season with injury but the good news was that he looks to be back without any drop in skills. He got one year left on his contract to prove that he can still play the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating season end: 75/75
Farr struggled most of the season with a bad knee and only started 5 games in 2012. He just rushed for 14yds and had under 100yds receiving for the first time in his career. The team missed the playoffs for the 7th straight year.

885yds on 212 carries was the result for Maloney as the Ravens starter. He only rushed for over 100yds once and after getting in to the end zone twice in the first week he only had two more TDs in the remaining 16 games of the season. He did have 29 rush attempts for over 10yds and that was 8th most by all players in the NFL this year.

We might be looking at a Hall of famer. For the 3rd year in a row Newton was selected All-League 1st team guard. It was also the 3rd year in a row he had over 50 KRB and a BPct over 40. This year he also had 16 pancake blocks and only allowed 1 sack.
He is a monster….

RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51

You need to have more then 27 tackles when you are one of the highest rated DEs in the league. He might not play on a very good team (5-11) but a 7.0 TkPct is embarrassing for a player of this calibre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
2012 draft: Round 3 pick 3 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 30/51
Rating season end: 39/51
Piniella played the 7 first games of the season and recorded a respectable 36 tackles and 18 asst before being injured and sidelined for the remaining of the season with hamstring trouble. With a team highest 16.0 TcPct it looks like the gamble on Piniella might work out fine.

QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 55/69
A 1:1 TD interception ratio is not good for your starting quarterback but that was what Ditka managed this year. He led the league in interceptions (tie with Vince Young) with 19 picks and he pass rating for the year was a disappointing 76.4. He had 3530yds and completed 59% of his passes. Despite the very average numbers he managed to take the team to the playoffs with an 8-8 record but lost in the first round to the Bengals.

2013 NFL Combine:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Zach Darusmont
Eight Buckeye players born between 1989 and 1991 will be ready for the 2013 NFL draft and with his 5.4 adjusted rating quarterback Zach Darusmont is the best of them. He just makes the top-10 in this years quarterback class. His day at the combine was very average but he is one of the 10 most developed quarterback in this year’s draft (35%). The scouts say that he is overrated and his scouting reports show huge weakness in his ability to read a defends, 3rd down passing and long passing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LCB Jamal Gelbaugh
After holding out last year in Seattle Gelbaugh is back in this years draft. Last year he was drafted with the 17th overall pick but considered his past and the depth of this years draft class he might fall out of the first round this year. He is only the 4th highest rated CB but what might save him again is that he is the 8th most developed player (non-kicker) in the entire draft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDT Matthew Methe
Only two DTs decided not to work out at the combine and Matthew Methe from Hickory, NC was one of them. He is 52% developed but the scouts agree to call him very overrated. His scouting report is nothing special with slightly above average skills in pass rush strength but way under average play diagnosis and punishing hitter. He is a bit on the small side for a DT with his only 288 pound.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LCB J.T. Griffith
A nice 5.7 adjusted rating makes him the 3rd highest rated CB in this years draft. He did very well at the combine and looks to be a first round pick. His only real weakness is as a punishing hitter.

With Newton, Strong, Logan and Piniella all still active we will wait at least another year to add a new Rutgers player to the dynasty.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Lewis Gress

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FL Leland Leighton
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 11 by Seattle Seahawks

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating post camp: 42/42
Looks like Gameau once again will be in the starting line-up in Houston. After being used as a backup the entire last season he is this year the only RT on the Texans roster. This is his last year of this rookie contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating post camp: 39/47
He once again re-works his contract and this time settles for a 3-year $5.48mil deal. Despite that he is still placed on the inactive roster before the season kicks off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Bill Roberts
2012 draft: Round 4 pick 31 by Cincinnati Bengals
Rating post draft: 19/34
Rating post camp: 27/34
He will likely see a bit more action then last year as he is now the highest rated D-line player not in the Bengals starting line-up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Zach Darusmont
2013 draft: Round 6 pick 23 by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rating post draft: 13/35
Rating post camp: 13/35
Darusmont was just happy to make the roster and that his signing bonus was only $120.000 didn’t really matter much to him. The total contract was worth $1.97mil over 3 years. Despite his poor ratings he is second in the depth chart and will play if the team’s starter goes down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Vinny Stevens
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 21 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 13/57
Rating post camp: 11/32
His ratings is dropping quickly now and not many believe in his comeback now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Buddy Franz
2008 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/27
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CB Moe Bishop
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating post camp: 50/50
As not the secondary team leader the Redskins decided to give him another 1-year contract. He was moved to RCB and looked ready to be the starter. That was before he injured his elbow in the last pre-season game and was ruled out for 2-3 weeks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Bucky Stuckey
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 18/21
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Jimmie Sievers
2011 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft:
Rating season start: Retired

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LCB Jamal Gelbaugh
2012 draft: Round 1 pick 17 by Seattle Seahawks
2013 draft: Round 2 pick 17 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 34/55
Rating post camp: 32/49
The hold-out costed him dearly. After dropping from 1(17) to 2(17) he had to sign a $4.4mil 3-year deal with the Browns. That’s a long way from the $12.8mil contract from Seattle he was turning down last year. This year he signed in the first week of FA.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Arnold Jeffries
2007 draft: Round 3 pick 5 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 31/43
Rating post camp: 33/33
Jeffries ratings seem to be declining after 6-years in the league. This year he will be the backup in Houston and many believe that this will be his last year with the team as his contract next season will account for over $4mil under the cap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE Terrell Hardy
2008 draft: Round 5 pick 2 by Green Bay Packers
Rating post draft: 21/34
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Leroy Conger
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 19 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 22/29
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Benjamin Shaw
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 21 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 42/53
Rating post camp: 38/42
Shaw is now in his last contract year with Cleveland and he is not any closer to start this year then last year. He is still the backfield leader and the team will have to relay heavily on the running game this year as they will play with a quarterback with a 32/42 rating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants
Rating post draft:
Rating post camp: 15/37
Nobody have asked for Upshaw during the season and he is getting close to shutting down his career.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Tom Heim
2012 draft: Round 1 pick 18 by Indianapolis Colts
Rating post draft: 22/68
Rating post camp: 32/57
After missing training camp last year he was sent to Europe this year and it paid off as he got a nice ratings boost. He will still start the 2013 season on the inactive roster but now he looks like a player with some potential to start in the near future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDT Matthew Menthe
2013 draft: Round 3 pick 6 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 32/46
Rating post camp: 35/47
He got a nice bonus of close to $1.5mil on his 4-year $4.41mil deal. The team got 8 D-line players on the active roster this year so Menthe will not see a lot of action his rookie season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating post camp: 36/36
After two years in San Francisco, two years in Green Bay, one year in Dallas and finally one year in Baltimore, Herrick will be taking a break this year. He has been dressed for 91 games during over the last six years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 43/43
He gets back from the injury without to much damage to his ratings. He agrees on a new two year deal with very little bonus money involved. The backfield leader will be the backup again this year and have not started a game since 2009.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 75/75
This year Farr will make less then $1mil in base salary and he must be looking forward to next season when his salary takes a huge jump to $3.7mil. It looks like he only got 39 official starts because the Eagles starts a lot of games in single back formations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LT Devin Gonser
2010 draft: Undrafted
Rating post draft: 15/38
Rating season start: Retired
Career Stats: N/A
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB Paul Maloney
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 26 by Baltimore Ravens
Rating post draft: N/A
Rating post camp: 47/55
Maloney will miss the start of the 2013 season with a knee injury. He is only ruled out for 4 weeks and he still looks to have enough talent to take back the starting job when he returns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RCB J.T. Griffith
2013 draft: Round 1 pick 23 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 26/60
Rating post camp: 36/60
This year the Seahawks manage to sign their first round pick without any trouble. Griffith gets a 4-year $11mil deal. In training camp he gets great help from mentor Marcus Trufant and jumps 10 points in current ranking. He was moved from left to right corner and will be the starter in his rookie season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating post camp: 73/73
Newton this off season became a mentor for offensive guards. That might be needed as 60% of the players on the O-line are rookies. The 7 years in the league doesn’t look to have any influence on his ratings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 40/40
He will still be the starter in Carolina this year but for the first time in his career as LT. He also re-worked his contract once again to save the team some cap-room. He is now the team’s offensive line leader.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: 1 Super Bowl ring
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating post camp: 77/77
He is now a 4-year veteran and with his maxed out ratings its time to step up and lead the team. This long he have only managed 93 tackles in his 45 starts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
2012 draft: Round 3 pick 3 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 30/51
Rating post camp: 42/51
The Lions will hope that Piniella can stay healthy all this season and complete what he started last season in his rookie year when he had a solid start to the season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating post camp: 54/69
He might not have had the best start to his career but it didn’t stop the Bills form giving him a new HUGE deal. He signs a new 6-year deal worth $62.6mil and he better remain healthy because over $25mil of that money is guarantied bonus.

Not the best season in the career of Gameau. He got to start 15 games as RT before being sidelined in the final game of the season with a knee injury. He finished the season with a career low 22.7 BPct and also allowed 7 sacks. He did not sign a new contract during the season and will be able to test the FA-market this year.

WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings

RDT Bill Roberts
2012 draft: Round 4 pick 31 by Cincinnati Bengals
Rating post draft: 19/34
Rating season end: 29/34
Got a little more playing time this year but was still not even close to a place in the starting line-up. Was on the field for a total of 280 plays and recorded just 11 tackles and 5 assists. Still got two years left on his contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Zach Darusmont
2013 draft: Round 6 pick 23 by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rating post draft: 13/35
Rating season end: 13/35
Darusmont got to take a total of 5 snaps in his rookie season. In a huge loss to the Packers he was allowed on the field late in the game. Two of the passes was caught by his own players, two was incomplete and one was intercepted. He finished the season/game with a 9.2 pass rating. He also had 8yds on the ground on two rushing attempts.

On top of that he had 42 tackles and 14 assists and that helped the team make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

When Gelbaugh finally got to play some football it went pretty well. He was only a backup at season start but ended up starting a total of 8 games and played in all 16. 8 passes defended, 32 tackles and 10 assists was his numbers for his rookie season. He also played in two playoff games but lost the conference semi-final to Denver on a last second FG.

It was the first time since 2008 that Arnold Jeffries didn’t manage a rushing TD in the regular season. He just carried the ball a total of 44 times for 182yds and was not happy about it. On the positive side the team did make the playoffs and Jeffries got to play football in January for the first time in his now 7-year career.

Just 276yds rushing was the result for Shaw in the regular season. His best performance came in the playoffs when he as a backup rushed 17 times for 84yds and 2TDs. What will happen next year is now very open after the teams star running back went down in the playoffs with an inguinal hernia.

LT Bo Upshaw
2011 draft: Round 6 pick 30 by New York Giants

RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers
Rating post draft: 21/47
Rating season end: 36/36
It once again became a busy year for Spencer Herrick. It first looked like he would sit out the year but in week 4 the Cleveland Browns came asking for his help. He was dressed for 5 games and started two for the Browns before being released again in week 9. In week 12 the phone rang again and this time it was Green Bay who once again wanted his services. It was only for 1 game as he started the week 12 games and was released the week after. For the six week he worked this year he was paid a little over $300.000.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 43/43
We got another player with a Super Bowl ring. In the regular season John Schulz had a career low 102 rushing attempts for just 383yds and 3 TDs. The team lost 4 of the last six games of the regular season but still made the playoffs with a 10-6 record. They had a bye week and beat the Browns and then the Patriots to make it to the Super Bowl. Against the 49ers John Schulz had the best day of his career. He was still only the backup but it didn’t stop him from scoring the first points of the game on a 3yds run on the Broncos first possession of the day. On the second possession he scored again. This time on a 2yds pass from Jay Cutler. The Broncos won the game 29-17 and Schulz finished the day with 100yds rushing and 21yds receiving and two TDs. It was the first time since he was the starter back in 2009 that he managed a 100+ game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating season end: 75/75
Not many will be surprised when I tell that Oakland and Detroit have not made the playoffs once sine the 2006 season but what the Eagles is doing on that exclusive list is a mystery. Karl’s season was ruined by injuries. He was injured no less then 5 times but still god on the sideline for all 16 games. This was the first season since he joined the league he didn’t had a rushing or receiving TD all year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RCB J.T. Griffith
2013 draft: Round 1 pick 23 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 26/60
Rating season end: 47/60
He just missed a single game with a knee injury but started the remaining 15. 50 tackles, 11 assists, 1 interception and 6 defended passes was his final stats for the season. The three cornerbacks draft in the first round of the 2013 draft all had over 50 tackles in their rookie season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating season end: 73/73
This year he was “only” selected All-League 2nd team Guard but I guess he didn’t mind giving up that price for the ring he now got on his finger. 6 times during the season he had more 4 or more KRB in a single game including in the Super Bowl against the 9ers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating season end: 40/40
For the second year in a row he started all 16 games for Carolina and helped them to the playoffs. For the 4th year in a row he was also involved in a first round playoffs loss. He had a disappointing 27.7 BPct but didn’t allow a sack all season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Daniel Tilson
2009 draft: Round 7 pick 30 by New England Patriots
Rating post draft: 10/49
Rating post camp: Retired
Career Stats: 1 Super Bowl ring
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDE J.J. Logan
2010 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by St Louis Rams
Rating post draft: 52/77
Rating season end: 77/77
This was the year J.J. Logan finally lived up to his ratings. 12.5 sacks and 33 tackles and a trip to the playoffs earned him the price as All-League 1st Team defensive end. His most impressive stats was perhaps that after his first 13 quarterback knock downs in his three first seasons he had no less then 31 this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
2012 draft: Round 3 pick 3 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 30/51
Rating season end: 49/51
He was in the top-10 in the league with his 99 tackles but it was not enough to win rookie of the year. The Lions will be a force to recon with in a few years when the quarterback the drafted with the #1 pick this year get a chance to develop.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Will Ditka
2009 draft: Round 1 pick 1 by Buffalo Bills
Rating post draft: 22/74
Rating season end: 62/69
He still throws a lot of interceptions (16) but this year he had even more TDs (28) and his pass rating went up to 89.9. No quarterback in the league had more 3rd down conversions then Ditka this year (66) and that helped in taking the team to the playoffs for the second year in a row. The result was the same as last year and they lost in the first round with Ditka only completing 12 of 34 passes for 116yds and a 33.4 pass rating.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDT B.J. Vance
With his 59% he is the second highest developed DT in this year’s draft. A 6.1 adjusted rating makes him the 5th highest rated DT and he will be drafted in the second round. His combine was average and the scouts put a big warning light next to his play diagnosis. He looks to be a great run defender and also has a good pass rush technique.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NT Scott Maloney
A big draft class from Southern Cal this year with 15 players ready for the draft but Maloney is still the lowest rated of the players we will track this year. Maloney has the 18th highest adjusted rating among the DTs and is the second highest rated NT. He is only 6-3, 287 and he had an above average combine. Just 43% developed and he will likely drop to the last two rounds of the draft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Rico Ponds
The 5th highest rated OLB and 56% developed. His 5-9 makes him the smallest WLB in the entire draft but and impressive Sole-test (41) will help him overcome that. He also had on of the highest position drills (32) but the scouts still say he is very overrated.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB George Lewis
Lewis is the most developed (45%) quarterback in this years draft and the 3rd highest rated quarterback overall. He had a terrible combine and the scouts are very concerned about his lack of accuracy and he skills in sensing the pass-rush. What the scouts do like is that he already knows 12 different formations.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Josh McFarland
The best LG in this years draft comes from Rutgers. With his 6-6, 336 he is a huge guy but he still had a very impressive agility drill (7.59sec) for a player his size. The scouts see him mostly as a pass blocker but also say that he need some time to develop (33%) and its unlikely that he can start this season.

RT Rossevelt Gameau
2010 draft: Round 3 pick 8 by Houston Texans
Rating post draft: 29/39
Rating post camp: 42/42
FA and now able to sign his first new contract since his signed his $3.71mil rookie contract 4 years ago. He decided that he wanted to go to Indianapolis and signed a 2-year deal worth $3.74mil with close to $1.4mil in guarantied bonus. The Colts O-line is not very good and Gameau will guarantied be in the staring line-up this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating post camp: 43/43
He is now fully developed but the former first round pick have still never started a game and this season he will start on the bench once again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RDT Bill Roberts
2012 draft: Round 4 pick 31 by Cincinnati Bengals
Rating post draft: 19/34
Rating post camp: 29/34
Was released by the Bengals in the first week of the 2014 FA period and had to wait and hope that somebody need a player to help out with the run defends. When the season was ready to kick off nobody had yet called Bill Roberts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB Zach Darusmont
2013 draft: Round 6 pick 23 by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rating post draft: 13/35
Rating post camp: 10/40
Now he knows what it feels like to be replaced by a younger model. He was released before training camp by the Buccaneers to make room for a quarterback selected in the draft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LDT B.J. Vance
2014 draft: Round 2 Pick 1 by Arizona Cardinals
Rating post draft: 35/58
Rating post camp: 17/35
Looks like we got our first real bust. B.J. Vance signed his rookie contract with Arizona worth $8.8mil with almost $3.5mil in bonus but when he showed up in training camp he just looked awful. He still got some potential in run defends (16/50) but overall he just looks terrible and will start (and properly finish) the season on the inactive roster.

2009 draft: Round 2 pick 23 by New Orleans Saints
Rating post draft: 29/44
Rating post camp: 49/49
Bishop was an unrestricted free agent this year and went out and got himself a huge contract. The Jaguars was the only team approaching him in FA and they gave him a 4-year deal worth $19mil. He struggled with knee tendinitis all pre-season but looks to be ready to the season start as LCB.

2012 draft: Round 1 pick 17 by Seattle Seahawks
2013 draft: Round 2 pick 17 by Cleveland Browns
Rating post draft: 34/55
Rating post camp: 42/42
It will be a rough year in Cleveland this year. No less then 36 rookies on the roster and as many as 12 of them might be in the starting line-up for opening week. Gelbaugh is now fully developed but will not be the starter unless he is moved to RCB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NT Scott Maloney
2014 draft: Round 6 pick 9 by Miami Dolphins
Rating post draft: 16/38
Rating post camp: 18/38
The Dolphins have 9 D-line players on their roster this year. Maloney was switched without any problems from NT to RDT before training camp. He still got a lot of developing to do and is on the inactive roster for the season start. If the Dolphins get hit by injury his place on the team might be in jeopardy.

RDE Spencer Herrick
2007 draft: Round 5 pick 7 by San Francisco 49ers

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RB John Schulz
2008 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 43/43
After 6 years with the team Denver release him to FA. His saviour came from New Orleans who needed a backup for now 9-year veteran Reggie Bush. Bush only needed 8 seasons to rush for 10.000yds and Schulz will not see a lot of action as the 3rd running back on the roster
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FB Karl Farr
2009 draft: Round 2 pick 4 by Philadelphia Eagles
Rating post draft: 46/69
Rating post camp: 76/76
Despite the limited playing time with the Eagles Farr didn’t waste any time signing when he was presented with a new contract. He signed a new 4-year deal worth close to $25mil with $14mil in signing bonus alone. This is finally the year the Eagles is without McNabb who was finally released before this season.

2011 draft: Round 1 pick 26 by Baltimore Ravens

The backfield leader signed a new and cap-friendly 2-year contract with the Ravens before the season. He will likely share starting time with RB Kendrick Gilmore this year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RCB J.T. Griffith
2013 draft: Round 1 pick 23 by Seattle Seahawks
Rating post draft: 26/60
Rating post camp: 50/59
George Lewis has already taken a huge jump in ratings after his rookie season. He is now the teams highest rated RC and a sure man in the starting line-up. He even god time to sign a new 3-year deal during the off-season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
QB George Lewis
2014 draft: Round 1 pick 19 by Atlanta Falcons
Rating post draft: 25/46
Rating post camp: 25/39
They gave him $6mil in signing bonus and that all looks to be out the window. All the fears the scouts had about he bad combine came thru and he looks like a bust. He knows a lot of formations (12) but on the field he just looks awful.

Jeffries was released by his team in the first week of the season and for the first time in his career became a FA. The years in the league have not been kind to him and his ratings took a big hit (-10) during the off season. It’s unlikely he will see any more action in this league.

LG Ronald Newton
2007 draft: Round 1 pick 7 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 53/71
Rating post camp: 66/66
He did take a bit of a ratings hit (-7) but the release was still a shock. Only three teams had the cap room available to get in the hunt for Newton. He took the biggest contract and went to Carolina on a 4-year deal worth $32mil. $12mil was bonus money and for that money they got a HoF player and a new offensive line leader. The team looks pretty solid and don’t be surprised if Newton was the missing piece in getting them to the playoffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RT Derrick Strong
2008 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Jacksonville Jaguars
Rating post draft: 31/51
Rating post camp: 40/40
He quickly lost his possession as O-line leader when Newton arrived and he also lost his place in the starting line-up when the team signed veteran Eric Steinbach. With a new 4-year contract he will still se plenty of action but being a backup for the first time since 2011 was properly not in his plans.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MLB Antonie Piniella
2012 draft: Round 3 pick 3 by Detroit Lions
Rating post draft: 30/51
Rating post camp: 49/49
Piniella will be the starter again this year but there is no way he can make a difference big enough to save the sorry Lions. The team will have to wait another few years until their second year stud quarterback gets developed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LG Josh McFarland
2014 draft: Round 1 pick 32 by Denver Broncos
Rating post draft: 32/68
Rating post camp: 37/68
Only 4 players with more then 4-years experience will be in the starting line-up for the defending Super Bowl Champs in week 1. Despite his low current rating Josh McFarland will be one of the starters on the O-line that average less then 3-years experience pr player.

Started all 16 games for the Colts and recorded 10KRB and a 10.9 OPct. He also allowed 6 sacks (1.5 SPct). The team lost 5 of the last 6 games and missed the playoffs for the 6th year in a row. The team drafted a quarterback with the second pick last year (Ellis Starks from Mississippi State) and he looks to be the saviour for the franchise in the near future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WLB Jonathan Scurlock
2011 draft: Round 1 pick 25 by Minnesota Vikings
Rating post draft:
Rating season end: 43/43
When the teams starting WLB went down with a possible career ending ankle injury and was placed on the IR Scurlock finally got a chance to start in the NFL. He did pretty well and recorded a total of 44 tackles and 13 Asst in during the season. It was not enough to help the team to a winning season (7-9) but it looks promising for his chances next season.

QB Zach Darusmont
2013 draft: Round 6 pick 23 by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rating post draft: 13/35
Rating season end: 14/36
In week 14 of the regular season the Giants suddenly decided to make a major roster overhaul. They released four players and singed four new and among them was Zach Darusmont. He didn’t get to play any football but spend a few weeks on the practise field together with Eli Manning. The reason for the shake-up of the Giants roster is unknown but it’s a fact that they lost 8 of their 9 last games and the team that won the Super Bowl just two years ago finished the season with a 4-12 record.

He started 12 games before missing the end of the regular season due to back injury. He was back for the playoffs and had his first career playoffs interception but it was not enough to take them to the Bowl game again. He only had 38 tackles and 1 interception in the regular season and must be considered injury prone.
