Thank God Walsh is gone. He wasn't right the first time around, but I was willing to give him a chance again. That quickly evaporated after the first game when he made zero adjustments at halftime. The offense can only get better.

Oh, and I'm prepared for any snarky remarks from the crowd. ;)

So I'm guessing that Moss will never get that discount at his Bed & Breakfast...

I'm disapointed and was hoping the Raiders would keep him around.

Course, I HATE the Raiders and think he sucked horribly and I was looking forward to more suckiness.

Yep, your offense is going to be so much better with Shoop running it. Shoop likes to run what we call the 3 and out offense. Unlike your more standard offense, this offense is meant to maximize the kicking game, hoping your defense will score enough points so that way the offense doesn't have to. Quite effective at keeping offensive players healthy, as long as the play on punt coverage teams.

Word. We're all upset that we can't trade for Moss in our fantasy leagues over here -- all those bubble screens are sure to increase his value!

I hate the Raiders, but, their defense has showed some signs of life the last few weeks. If they had even a half way decent offensive line that didn't swing open like a wild west saloon door to the QB, they could be something to finally worry about.

I don't think it was Walsh's fault that Gallery couldn't even stop the likes of Erkle from sacking Walters or Brooks.

Part of Gallery's problem is the fact that this is his 3rd offensive line coach in 3 years. He also moved from right to left tackle. Additionally, while Jackie Slater might be in the Hall of Fame, this is his first coaching job.

Walsh is the Donald Rumsfeld of the Raiders. He's too much of a lightning rod to keep around. Additionally, he didn't make any adjustments during the game to compensate for the offensive line's lack of pass protection.

I'm kinda torn on when players use coaches as an excuse or a shift from the right side to the left and vise versa. The basic concept of being a lineman is the same at any level of the game on both sides of the ball. It's the ability of the opponents you face that change and the player has to adjust. Something is definitely wrong though when your O-line leads the league in sacks given up. Coaching? Players? It's hard to tell at times. It seems as if the Raiders have the talent, but, the stats and just from watching the games don't match.

I was very surprised that Walsh made no adjustments at all. That blew me away. But, being a Chargers fan, happy with his decision. ;)

Jackie Slater definitely knows how to play, obvisouly with being in the Hall, I think only time will tell if it translates into his success as a coach.
