1971 Draft File

Has anyone tried to use this, the one downloaded from the sticky page. It seems to crash FOF everytime I try to import it.

I had the same issue but I abandoned it in favor of using Jim's initial player file that comes with the game.

The problem I had was George Blanda....the old fart ;). It seems that it can only import players with up to 19 years of experience. I went in to his entry in Excel and changed the 21 to 19.

I had that problem with the initial 1970 draft, but I mean the 1971 draft class.

How did you change it in excel?

When I open the file, it is unreadable.

Am I doing something wrong?

The 1971 draft file is bad. The link that I downloaded the fixed 1971 draft file is gone from the bug thread. If you PM me your email, I'll email the fixed 1971 draft file.

The file I am talking about is the 1970 Roster CSV file. I imported it with the Player File Creator and then saved the new player file which I then loaded when I started a new league.

Skydog, do you want me to send you the updated file so you can update the zip file you have listed in the sticky/ Otherwise anytime someone downloads that, they'll get stuck at the 1971 draft without help.

It would be ashame to let the great work done on this historic roster files go to waste because of something small and fixable. I'm in love with these rosters. Harmon Wages helped propell my 1970 Falcons team to the playoffs :)

There's a problem I'm having with the 1970 roster file. I have only 38 active players on my roster & everyone else has 46 active & 14 inactive.


I have 38 TOTAL!!! It seems that no matter what team you choose you'll have 38 total players. Unless someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong,this is a great set,must be some sort of compatability problem.

Its really weird.. The recent Barry Sanders thread in the General Discussion forum has been making me feel that Harmon Wages in my fof2k7 career is very much like how Barry played. He led the league in the number of 10+ yard carries, but also had a 3.79 Yards per carry average which was pretty poor.

I watch out all of my games play by play for fun (why I go so slow), and I swear all of his carries were either 12 yards or -3 yards. It also created some really bizarre numbers for my offensive line according to the football outsiders computations.. the worst -% score I have ever seen in this game. My offensive line "should" be good.. so I have no idea what was going on. I'm hoping to see in 1971 if it changes any.

What is the file you've been using? If you are starting your career in 1970 the file you need to use is 1970_fof2k7.fdt. It has the full universe of players at that time, not just 1 draft class. The .faf are only draft classes and probably don't have enough players to stock all 32 rosters. I think it is stickied up top, if not pm me and I can send it to you.

I believe the problem is solved, did'nt have "Scouts automatically sign players to fill roster" set to "Yes".

Yeah, you cannot use the *.fdt files, they are in the FOF2k4 format. Grab a csv file from SkyDog's download thread and create your own file with the league file generator that came with the game.

I'll put up a new version of the big archive without these files.

I downloaded every historic file from the reference thread and they all crash in 1971 for me. I can't import that year for whatever reason.
