Here's the scenario:

I have two C's right around 60/60. This off-season I was unable to acquire a solid RG either through free agency or the draft and as such I think my top guy is something like an 18/24.

One of my C's experience level at RG is maxed out so my plan this year is to play him at RG.

My question is:

Would it be beneficial to change his position to RG or just play him as a RG while keeping him listed as C? If I change him, he will only retain around 85% of his ratings.

I had the same problem the previous season with 3 solid Safeties and only one good CB.

Does anyone know if one method is more beneficial than the other? (ie. playing a player out of position while keeping his ratings high or taking a hit in the ratings while having him now play his new listed position.)

It would seem to me to be ideal to maintain the position that he has the highest ratings in (in case he needs to switch back) while playing him out of position rather than him losing ratings at a position change.

If it isn't a long-term solution I'd stick to playing them out of position. If you plan on keeping them in the new position switch them as they will (generally) gain current ability in the new position.
