i'm gonna watch it. at least in the trailer they admit that he otherwise wouldn't have a shot in the ring cuz of his diminished skills, so he'd have to work on pure blunt force. everyone knows he's gonna win that last fight, but who cares, we all need a feel-good story every once in a while.

Why are you saying this?

I think Sly has shown that he is willing to take small parts in movies, guest star appearances on TV, Voice work in cartoons, and he even said yes to reality TV. Sly has many years ahead of him in milking his image on the screen.

Sorry, you will be seeing Sylvester Stalone for many years to come.

It will be a draw so they can have another sequel for a rematch.

The when Rocky retires as champ, his son will take over and it will be called "Rocky Jr 1"

That would be superb.....possible plot lines......

2. Rocky travels back in time, gets young Rocky and Fights in Future for mankind
3. Rocky fights hundreds of five year olds
4. A clone of Rocky is made in the future and fights a clone of Drago

Saw it today. Just so you know, I'm a mark for these movies.
Spoiler space (just in case)

It was an excellent movie and a great bookend to the series. I can't honestly see how they would produce another movie. A sequel to this one would tarnish the series. Anyhow, I went into it expecting more of Rocky IV, but it was more like Rocky. It wasn't a boxing movie; it wasn't about the fight at the end of the movie. It was a movie about a journey, getting old, and moving forward when you're hit. Anyhow, there were a bunch of great lines in the movie and it was well-written with great dialogue. I thought it flowed well, except the fight was somewhat sudden. It was like an exposition that went into "we're going to fight, training montage, fight". That being said, what led up to it was great. There were a few scenes that choked me up, like when Rocky told Paulie he had some stuff in the basement.

Overall it was a predictable, cliched movie but a journey that was thoroughly enjoyable. The movie theater was packed for a 12:15 PM showing on a work day and they were really into it. I hate seeing comedies with a large crowd because I sometimes miss some of the lines, but with this movie it was great seeing it with a lot of other people who "marked out". A big thumbs up for me.

Forgot to mention: Sylvester Stallone did a terrific job acting in the movie. Although he gets a meathead action movie star rep, he performed very well as Rocky Balboa. The other thing is that he could've made this into a "Passing of the Torch" thing either to his son or to Mason Dixon. That probably would've been a good way to spin a sequel or another movie franchise out of this, but thankfully they didn't.

Okay, I just saw this movie as well. I was slightly skeptical about the reviews, but after seeing it, I know what Raiders Army is talking about. The pacing of the movie was great and that is due to the well written dialouge. And I also got chocked up with a few lines, but it wasn't the one that Raiders Army mentioned. My slight choke up occured when he was talking to his son about life in general.

And I didn't know if people noticed, but there are some characters that stem from the original Rocky that resurfaced and that was very cool. Anyways this movie will soon be in the DVD collection based on some of the great quotes.

I just saw it, and it's definitely a movie that can stand on its own merit, unlike the previous sequels (which were all varying ranges of "bad" IMO). The character development is much deeper than in the sequels, and this movie does not center on the boxing action. Instead, the movie focuses on themes like respect, compassion, honor and dignity. I won't give away the ending, but the fight does not end like everyone would expect it to.

It's one of the best movies I've seen in a while.
