Player Holdouts

In my 1978 season, my RDE is holding out for a bigger contract. I'm at the Exhibition Game stage and he's counting as an active player for me. I can't make him inactive. If he's holding out, shouldn't he automatically count as being inactive or shouldn't I be able to make him inactive?

Bump. This is a year old, but I can't find any other reference to this problem. Shouldn't you be able to inactivate a player holding out? I counted all the players on my roster (which includes the two players I have holding out), and the number is the same as is reported as currently active. I know guys in the NFL who are holding out can be put on the inactive roster for that week.

I believe if you try to play with 47 "active" and one of the actives is holding out, the game will allow it.
