Is this normal?

I just bought the game and am a total noob to this game but am doing a lot of reading and sims (I'm in my 5th season) to try and get a handle on it:P
But I've run into this problem for the second season in a row.
I have a few new players and one second year player that I cannot get any playing time.
Even in preseason, if I put them on the active roster the AI inactivate them as soon as I change windows:D
One is an awesome kick returning LCB rated at 35/52 with no endurance and a couple of the others are like 24/53's.

I want to try and get them on the field to improve them in the preseason but nothing I do seems to work and it is driving me crazy. Is this normal or is my staff turning on me?

Most likely, in global options, you have checked the options that provides for staff to do gameplans/depth charts prior to each game. This would of course override any of your decisions on the depth chart.

No, I have them both in the 'NO' position.
I will try and switch them back and forth though and see if it juggles something:P

At least the 'NO' is white and the "YES" button in dark

That's strange. I set the yes buttons to white on those 2 settings and it worked.
But meanwhile I have the 'sign players' and 'fill roster' set to white also and they have been signing players.
This really pisses me off. I ran the whole last season without playing that player. Very wacked.

Are you sure your changing it in the regular global options and not the multi-player global options?

Yes, it was in the regular. I have switched the settings to having the yes buttons white and it is working fine now. Seems they are opposite of the yes buttons for having your coaches do the game planning and free agent signing for some reason. I don't recall that being the case the first 3 seasons I simmed. But it is at least not kicking my players off the roster now. Thanks for the replys
