Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that our own Flasch186 is getting pretty deep into the money and is sitting in the top 15 in chips in the Poker Stars 1 million garaunteed tournament.

The field started with 6,628 and they are down to 331 (I went out 4,557 :)). He is sitting on about 500k in chips with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and 800 antes.

Go Flasch!!!!

Edit: Oh yeah he is at table 531.

Woot! Flasch just took down a huge pot (I missed how it went down while I was posting the original thread) and is now sitting at 791k in chips and is 2nd overall!!!!

Did I read correctly that the top prize is about 200k on average?

Today's first place prize is a little over 185k

I'm sitting here killing time while waiting to hear some news about my brother's baby that is about to be born. This seems like a good way to make time pass. Good luck Flasch.

Doubles up with 99 vs. AK, spikes a 9 on the flop for good measure. Rather exciting stuff.

And the villian from the preceding hand decides to spend the next 5 minutes whining. Good times.

Maybe if chi-town did not push all-in everytime, he would get more respect.

Just out of curiousity.. if you won and it was illegal.. HTF would someone pull out $185K.

Drop $1K in a checking acct or cash a check is one thing.. $185K deposit going through.. different.

Granted, nice dilemma to have.

In this scenerio, you could afford to personally travel to your offshore banking institution.

You have to voluntarily file the forms, PokerStars doesn't file a W2-G with the IRS.

What Cartman said.

Technically it should be treated just like any other income. Even income from clearly illegal activities is taxable.

Just because I'm poor and focus my time on the $2 tourneys, it won't let me chat at your table. This is clearly discrimination.

Under/over on Chi-town's age? I would say he is 13.

They used to let everyone comment, until the $0 balance morons starting typing a single character and enter over and over again.

Yeah, figure it works out better for the games to weed out a large percentage of the people who want to talk shit. Doesn't mean I have to like it though :).

Man, while that hand was going, my brain was rationalizing and thinking so much. "He cant have a straight. Everyone's playing second rate hands. Why cant i steal one. Ill bluff. Ive got momentum, etc. etc."

Ridiculous, I shouldve known better but for what its worth I had a blast.

Flasch asked if anyone from FOFC was watching and commented how FOFC was his online family. This guy observed it and said that when Flasch had been eliminated. If you hand around online poker rooms enough, you will realize that some immature players act like major pricks.

Flasch, I think a bigger mistake was blowing away the field in that KK situation. But congrats on finishing 65th and the extra $$$ should make for a merrier Christmas.

I don't think it was that bad of a move. A lot of people were coming in with A-rag, and being in early position, he was right to weed out as many people as possible to avoid them catching an A on the flop.

There was absolutely no bigger mistake than getting jiggy with an A4.....that may be defined as idiocy.

Congrats Flasch! I was able to watch your table for about an hour, and it definitely was exciting, especially around prize cut-off points. Being a consistent $2 tourney player, I'm used to disregarding most cutoffs, attempting to double up instead of hanging on for an extra 74 cents. But in your case, it was cool to see you hanging around as an extra hunded dollars came your way every few minutes.

I agreed with some of the analysis from the rail (even if they were incredibably annoying and immature) during your A4 hand. If I remember right, he flopped two pair Aces and Nines (with one spade on the board and lots of straight possibilities). Watching along, I wasn't sure what you had at first - a made straight, some straight draws, or Ax. Then the turn hit with spade, you paused for a while, checked, and then doubled his ~240k bet. At this point, I put you on the straight, and him on Ax (but with only one pair) and possibly flush and straight draws. The K spades was definitely a scary river, but had you bet out rather than check, I think he lays it down -- just too many hands that have him beat (any J, 2 spades, betters aces up, or a hidden set). Now, he did have about half of his stack committed by this point, so there's a chance he might have thrown caution to the wind played along and taken you out right there -- but I think if you show strength on the river, he keeps his chips and tries to make another prize cutoff. At the same time, I can certainly see your reasons for checking -- an extremely dangerous board, almost anything he's stuck around with to this point would have your A4 crushed.

Just a random observation. Like I said, you can find me practicing my skills at the $2 tourneys, so feel free to laugh at my attempts to offer feedback :)

And for anyone who might be intersted, our villian for the night, chi-town, was knocked out soon after Flasch in 52nd place, only pocketing another $100 and change over the hero. Not a great showing for the best player at the table, it would seem

I think I played ChiTown back in my stars days, he's a big blowhard if I recall, especially if you catch him with something clever.

Hey!!

4 tourneys today, a net of -10$ (I won a double shootout, which took a lot longer than I anticipated when I registered) and -300FPP, + a gold star (whatever that means) and I will once again be in the tourney on Sunday WOOHOO. I hope I do as well!!!

No A4 meltdown this time :)
