I am really happy to see a guy like Frank Gore get recognized for a great season during that season as opposed to having to wait a year while a bigger name get the honor.

Jags got hosed.

I think they were hoping, among other things, for more defensive players and Fred Taylor to finally make it as a sentimental favorite.

9 Chargers. Is that a record?

I'm surprised that Hardwick made it, but he's been good this year.

I'm just curious. Why Parker over Brown?

What better 1331 yard and 11 touchdown or 783 yard and 5 touchdown?
4.7 yard per carry or 3.9 yard per carry.

Yeah, seriously, I had to go look at the NFL Rushing Leaders to figure out who "Brown" was... Not that I don't know who Ronnie Brown is, it just wasn't clicking... there are so many guys that would come to my list as Pro-Bowlers before Brown, it's not even funny...

I want to be with you on this, but I look at the NFC rosters and I wonder... who do you put in his place? The NFC is really hurting for Pro Bowl calibre QB's...

With only 2 QB's over an 80 Passer Rating (I know, I know, passer rating is flawed, but still) who have played the entire season you're almost forced, imo, to look at the two guys with 95+ QB Ratings who didn't play the whole season.

Interesting Defensive selections for the line and LBs. Only Al Wilson plays in a 4-3 defense (I believe the Fins switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 sometimes).

Edit--I mean AFC defense.

Just to demonstrate, if you want to consider guys who have played pretty much all season and haven't been benched yet, the competition for Romo's spot would be:

Eli Manning, Rex Grossman, Jon Kitna, Brett Favre, Michael Vick, and Alex Smith.

That's it. The best quarterback of that bunch (statistically speaking) is Eli Manning. Alex Smith's stats are pretty good considering the team he has to work with. Favre would only be a sentimental choice.

Honestly, even though Romo hasn't played the entire season, I think he's got to be a better choice than all those other guys.

Wow.. 8 QB's in the AFC who have played the whole season that are over an 80 QB Rating. It's scary to think that David Carr would deserve Pro-Bowl Consideration if he was in the NFC.

Or what if Drew Brees had been re-signed with the Chargers? Would Culpepper have been signed with the Saints and be out right now? At the very least Rivers wouldn't make the Pro Bowl. It's amazing that the Chargers had two Pro Bowl QBs on their roster.

Nice to see a couple of Cowboys on there. And Roy Williams made it again, so cue the "He's overrated and can't cover the deep ball" whining from the Dallas fans. I swear I've never seen a group of fans bitch about one of their own more than Roy it seems, quarterbacks excluded.

I'm no Vick fan, but his passing numbers aren't terrible (his 19/11 ratio is slightly worse than Bulger) and he just broke the single season rushing record for a QB. He's not amazing, but certainly has played well and should go over Romo who has played less games with more weapons.

Completion percentage puts a huge gap between Vick and Romo. Maybe Michael Vick would make a decent Pro Bowl alternate as a running back (OK, I'm half joking), but when you complete barely half of your passes, you're not a Pro Bowl quarterback. I know that some of those incompletions are from dropped passes, but every quarterback deals with that. Romo gets the ball to his receivers on a consistent basis. Vick doesn't.

Jon Kitna is almost as qualified to be a Pro Bowl QB as Michael Vick is, at least this season. Well, maybe I'm mostly kidding.

Mostly.

Jeez, why didn't you also pick Leinhart or Johnson if you were aiming for the lowest rated QBs in the NFC?

JeffW

McNabb*10 games+Replacement Level QB*6 games>Michael Vick*16 Games
Romo*8 games+Replacement Level QB*8 games>Michael Vick*16 Games

I'm surprised Vick didn't get in, though. I wonder if he got crushed by coach/player voting or if this is backlash from fans for his recent antics.

A career of over-throwing, throwing enough times until someone luckily catches his passes, throwing interceptions because of recklessness, throwing into coverage not ever sure what will happen. Sure, why not give the The Thrower (but not The Passer) his hurrah? :D :D :D

Biggest robbery of the group in my list. Not to mention, he was a driving force in keeping the Eagles offense moving all year and teams had to gameplan to stop him, yet he still performed at a very high level.

I hate the Cowboys, but I have no argument with Romo for reasons that Pumpy and Wade mentioned. There simply aren't any deserving candidates that were left off the NFC squad at QB.
