I'm looking at heading to Atlantic City for one or the events at the Borgata Winter Poker Open in January. Here's the schedule for the whole series of events:

I will gladly and unabashedly pimp the Borgata for anyone who has any such inclinations -- it's the first AC property to take the effort seriously, and to deliver the luxury of the top Vegas hotels. Our trips to AC are essentially trips to the Borgata now, as there's not a single other place in town that we even want to visit. I'd gladly elaborate on the restaurants and so forth if anyone is inetersted.
Anyway - back to the poker. I'm looking at this event:
EVENT #11
No-Limit Hold'Em, $1000 Buy-In + $80 Entry
Saturday, January 27, 2007 - 12NOON
It will be getting into my busy season at work (no days off from Jan-Apr), so going up for a day is probably the outer limits of what I can commit to doing. But I did this trek a coupole months ago for their last WPT-centered event, and had a pretty decent time doing so. My plan would probably be to drive up Saturday morning, and get there late morning, play in the tournament, play cash games in the afternoon assuming I bust, and head back late Saturday night.
Mrs Q and I are undecieded about making this a family trip -- but the reduced room rates make that at least a consideration, too.
My plan is flexible in the event that there might be others with whom I could coordinate. If anyone here might be up for going up to play, either in the tournament, cash games, or whatever.. please drop a line. Perhaps a few of us could collaborate on a room (either there or elsewhere in town) and make more of a two-day commitment.
