Vinatieri for Prez

My #1 receiver (rated 63) suffered a ruptured achilles tendon (which often can be career-ending). He was initially out 36 weeks at the early part of last season.
At the start of this season (initial staff hiring stage), his injury is over and his ratings remain unchanged. Has he made it unscathed? Has anyone had experience as to whether this is the point where he should show an injury drop (perhaps not the whole drop but certainly there would be some initial indication at this stage I would think)? Another player on my team who had a serious knee injury did drop 15 points at this stage. So it appears as though this is good news for my WR, no?
In 2K4, I would be fairly certain he is unscathed and survived the injury. My experience with 2K7 is pretty limited so I don't know if injury degradation has been treated differently in this new version.
I have to make some decisions on renegotation, etc. and so any input would be appreciated.
