I played a round of golf with my buddies today. We all suck, but I found out that each of us has our own weakness. Putting, chipping... Mine is hitting off the tee. As hard as I swing with my driver, I still can't get the distance my friends have. Luckily my long iron makes up for this.
What do you need work on?

How about adding consistancy?

It's been so long since I've played. I would have to go with "All of The Above".

This poll is asinine because I can't say none, that is if you consider PGA Tour 3 for the Sega Genesis golf

Definitely accuracy off the tee. I'm a shanker for life, so while my shots go far enough to be respectable, they always fly off at a forty five degree angle. I inevitably play the hole from a different fairway. (if I followed the Out Of Bounds rule, I'd tee off six times on every hole)

All of the above, since I haven't seen a tee in a little over a year. Sigh....
my low/long irons suck much.

I haven't played for a few years, since the eye problems started. I used to be very good once I made it to the green. My problem was consistency and my head. Once I would get a few good shots I would start to think too much about what I just did and then go into the tank. I don't have the patience to play poorly so my game just goes downhill after a few bad shots.

I play golf pretty much every sundays and I love it.
basically where I have most problems is being accurate off the tee, that first shot that can define/ or not define the hole in itself.
The long irons. I'm pretty good up to the 7-iron, but I get progressively worse from then on. Luckily I can usually get by with my length off the tee and the fairway woods.

I love the game of golf, and only recently have I been able to shoot in the double digits consistently. I've gotta say that accuracy off the tee is my biggest problem. I've got the worst slice you've ever seen...every once in a while I hit the ball straight, and I knock it around...

My favorite golf moment ever actually happened on a strange day...my ex-girlfriend's mom had invited me to play a round with her (I'm really good friends with her and her family still...but it was still a little weird. Didn't really know how to say no and not be rude, though). Anyhow, she's completely terrible, so even though there's only two of us, it's taken us a good 4 hours to play the front nine. We get to the eighth hole, and we line up for a straightaway par 4. I hadn't really been playing well, but on the previous hole (a par 5) I had hit the pin from over 200 yards away with a fairway wood, so I was feeling good (I bricked the !$#@# eagle putt, but got a birdie). I tee it up, and absolutely hammer the ball. Felt like it could quite possibly be the best shot of my life. Dead straight, using the wind at our back beautifully. Well, it had started to get a little late, and the shadows down the fairway hid my ball, but I knew it was straight ahead. So we go to find it, and we're looking for like 20 minutes, and we can't find it. So, with a group at our back, I drop a provisional ball, and whack it up by the green. Well, on our way up to the green, we spot a ball in the middle of the fairway...and sure enough, it's my ball. 330 yards away from the tee!!! I was stoked, even though I paid 30 bucks to golf 9 holes at an agonizingly slow pace with my ex's mom. :)

So yeah, accuracy off the tee is my biggest flaw.

Consistency is mine...I usually have one bad area that I just can't seem to correct throughout the year. Then start of next year, the problem is fixed and along comes a new one. Three years ago, I couldn't hit a short iron to save my life. two years ago it was putting, which has always been a strong point for me. Last year I developed some god-awful slice on my drive and couldn't correct for the life of me. Sigh...I wonder what it's going to be this year.
Love the game though...in that hate-love sort of way. :)

I break my game into four parts: driving, irons, chipping / pitching, putting. During any one round, I'll do two of them well, be OK at another, and just suck at the last. Every round it changes, which is the frustrating part. I usually only play 9 holes at a time, and often end up with around a 42 or 43. If I had to pick my biggest weakness, it would probably be not being able to consistently get up and down for par from just off the green.

I believe the real question should be:
What part of your golf game DOESN'T need work?
To which my answer would be:
Replacing divets.

Vince, are you sure your ex's mom said "A Round" and not "Around"? Maybe that's why she was so bad at the game, never intended on playing golf. :D

I am in the group of people that really needs the all of the above option. But I have recently developed a flaw in my swing where I am actually transfering my weight from front to back on my down swing which is causing me to hit everything sky high and short.
I can;t seem to correct it either.

I don't think we have that kind of time to go into what I need.

My short game is pretty good, which is a benefit of having a golf course and a course pro in the family. I was preached to about the value of the short game from a very early age, and spent countless hours around the practice green.
My other strong suit is my 3 iron. That club is my bread and butter. 180 yards, straight as an arrow just about every time.
But accuracy off the tee is what kills me. I finally bought some graphite shaft woods last year, and I'm still getting used to them, but they seem to have helped some. It's fun being able to play "grip it and rip it" and have the ball fly straight every once in a while. :)
