Interesting link I found of an interview a few months ago with Marine General Anthony Zini.

Zini is the general that criticized the civilians warhawks in the Bush administration as being too overzealous because they had never served in war. I'm surprised he admitted no war in his lifetime (he's Vietnam and later) was worth it. Gotta love his remark about McNamara and the Vietnam excuses.

I know General Schwarzkopf and other former military leaders that served during the Gulf War were of the same opinion at the time of this interview. Schwarzkopf however changed his tune a few weeks ago after Colin Powell's speech to the United Nations. I saw him on one of the Sunday D.C. programs with Madeline Albright and although it was obvious he still loathed Donald Rumsfeld, he thought Powell's speech showed enough evidence to support war against Iraq.

Does anyone have a link with a statement by Zini after Powell's speech to the U.N.?

BTW, I caught this on 20/20 the other week. Going back to the humanitarian justifications to overthrow Saddam Hussein, here is a perfect example. It profiled Hussein's eldest son, Odai. A real bastard! He doesn't date, he rapes, and of course he can get away with it because of who he is.

Hey guys, why don't you get rid of the Chinese leader while you're at it. His soldiers raped children and women in Tibet.

Yeah, the humanitarian argument doesn't hold much ground, but it's not like the U.S. is going to mess with someone who has nukes. I feel sorry for the Iraqi Olympic athletes. If I was competing against one, I'd probably let the poor guy or gal win to protect them from that psychopath.
