So my wife is a bit of a Tiffany's w**** (hey, her wording not mine)
and she gets all these damn e-mails for sales, new stuff, whatever.
so she gets this one today and clicks on the something or other silver - basically the cheap stuff and it brings it up and she is looking at all of these items that are like $200-300
so then she clicks on the super platinum diamond expensive one, the stuff that starts at 5 grand it works its way up and when she clicks... blocked by the firewall!!!!!
Brilliant!
what was even better is she thought I somehow configured it to work that way (perhaps because I keep threatening to blacklist the whole domain)

Generous Thought: Has your loved one considered the impact that donating even a quarter of that money to scholarships or charities could have?
Bitter Angel of My Nature: How about just showing your loved one photographs and statistics from places like Guatemala, where people survive on the equivalent of 2-3 American dollars a day? Darfur also works well.
Rocks and metal don't get me too excited.

Actually we are very generous, and spend a significant amount every year (in both $$$ and hours though most hours are hers since she is a stay at home mom) to charitable causes locally. Certainly more than a quarter of that...
although all my charitable works are concentarted locally, I think my money is more efficient and more impactful that way.

To be honest CU, I really don't think you need to explain to anyone what your wife and yourself do with your hard-earned income(s).

Sounds great. It's important to spread the wealth.

True....but I thought it was a point worth making.
I mean we all gain the most when we give.

Exactly. Pointless luxury is a waste of both resources and one's life.
