I knew Memphis was legit when they upset my team, Illinois, and they backed me up tonight!! Upset Louisville on the road. That's major, and I picked them to win Conf. USA!!!

It is fun to watch two great college-turned miserable pro-turned college again coaches duke it out to see who will have the distinct honor of being this year's first round upset special

Memphis is of course legit. I was pumped during the game, just ask my girlfriend. And we will nt be upset.

I thought it was a great game, even though Memphis did some stupid stuff at the end.

I miss the days when C-USA was a walk in the park for the Bearcats. :(

Let's not talk college basketball, OK? Last night my beloved UTEP Miners lost to freakin' Texas A&M Corpus-Christi and fell to 4-19. Can football season please start so that Jordan Palmer can let me down too?

Go C-USA!

Don't forget about Marquette!

GoldenEagle
02-20-2003, 01:52 PM
I would put C-USA's top 5 against any other conference.

Memphis
Louisville
Marquette
Cincy
DePaul or St. Louis

Tulane and UAB are also hot right now.

Thoughts?

Yes. TCU needs a new arena. :)

C-USA will make some noise in the tournament and should get 5 or 6 teams in and a couple in the NIT.

Yeah, TCU's arena is pretty small. It's nowhere near as tiny as SMU's though. Of course, TCU's court does have some historic significance. That's where Brandon Wolfram became UTEP's all-time leading scorer a couple of years ago... :)

Is that where he got his 100th career point? j/k :D

I know you're kidding, but it's a pretty nice accomplishment to be able to pass Jim Barnes (#1 overall NBA draft pick in '64 or '65), Tiny Archibald and Tim Hardaway...

And in 2004-05, that honor falls to Florida State - at home, no less.

Ugh, I remember that game well...Chris Massey came back and just went to town for about 10 minutes in the second half. Illinois was top ten at the time and Memphis won by about 4.

I know we beat Illinois at home right after Christmas when they were top 10. I think we went up there last year and beat them too. Massy was a beast that game.

I am going to the Memphis vs. Tulane game today. It is my first chance to check out the fourm.

I'm so glad some of you guys had a chance to check out the FedEx Forum on a day when we just laid it to Tulane.

This is of course coming from a Tiger's season ticket holder.

Sweet. A U of M poster psting here on FOFC! You should post more often.

I was sitting up in the nose bleed section but it was still fun. The line of view was good. I was impressed with the forum. Afterwards, I showed my girlfriend downtown. She had never been to that part of Memphis before.

I agree GoldenEagle, it is very hard to have a bad sight line at the Forum.

I was against the city paying 250 mil for that arena, but damn if that place isn't great to watch a basketball game. The crowd wasn't really into the game though. It is difficult to get the student's into the game when you keep pushing the student section farther back.

If you want to see a VERY lively crowd, come back to the Forum on 2/26. We host Loserville (sorry, Louisville) at 8:00.

Don't forget to pick up some BBQ-Nachos.

He was fairly active on the other board. He had around 500 posts I think. When we made the move, he wasn't real fond of the new board, and never really posted again.
