The league began in 1970 and has made it up to the start of 1978. We are about to start regular season, having upgraded to FOF2007 and have a swanky 60+ page yearbook to show for our pains (http://www.hfl-football.net/files/HFL%20Yearbook.pdf). Check out the teams and the stats in the magazine, and then read author NoSkillz franchise here in the dynasty pages of FOFC (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=56930)

Just want to say that the HFL is a great league, and has been for several seasons now. It's been a lot of fun playing the game with 70s players, and I can't wait to see the 80s with FOF 2007! Although, I dunno about that #1 in-game ranking for the Jets...they suck!! Go Patriots!

I Love this league. I love the ability to get my favorite players as a kid. I have tried to get Bert Jones. He was my 1st favorite player. I cant wait until 83 when i can attempt to trade for Elway. I am going to keep picks for that draft.

Lions have been snatched up but there are still some good teams out there. Or for those who'd like a challenge I can personally recommend the Jaguars or Colts. One has a lot of rebuilding to do and is in the same division as the league champions. The other is in the same division and city as the league champions.

And by the first big I, naturally, mean "head". Don't you get the slang where you live?

I would like to join but cannot post on the forums. I tried to get the Lions but missed out. What exactly are the teams available? I'minterested for sure. Hi,
I signed up on the HFL site but it wont let me post in the waiting list forum.
I would LOVE to play. I've played FOF for years single player. I run a couple fantasy football leagues and can never get enough of this stuff.
I sent off a pm to one of the waiting list moderators and would love to hear back from someone...if not, no problems, hope everything goes well with your league!

Our new commish is in the middle of a move, and his net access has been all over the place.
Don't worry though, we're also in the process of switching from FOF2004 to 2007 right now, so you're not missing anything and you have time to join us.

PMing the commish 3ric is probably the way forward at this stage. As FFF has mentioned he's in the middle of a move to the Arctic Circle or something so have patience and you'll be sorted.
PS Jets and 49ers have gone. There's still some teams with bags of potential out there though. Hopefully someone will take the Colts soon. If only to experience the joys of Sole-TV with two BALs.

Bump. Houston Texans are available, we're currently in the 1979 draft, midway through the first round (Joe Montana went first overall to the Eagles)

The Browns are taken, although there's a new position open with the Kansas City Chiefs, HFL Bowl winners three seasons ago.

We're starting the 1983 season next week, don't miss out on the opportunity to see Elway, Marino and Kelly getting drafted in the HFL!
With the 1983 draft in progress, we have a vacancy in New Orleans.
John Elway went first overall to Denver (!) and Marino 2nd to Tampa Bay (!!).
New Orleans is still open, and we have new vacancies in Cleveland and Oakland.
Bump. Cleveland is still available, folks. Get your Browns while they are hot!

The Broncos are open. Get your teams before the draft of the 1985 season begins.
Broncos are taken. Cincinnati is still available. We're starting free agency in 1985 next week, join while you still can build up a team for the coming season.

Sorry, the openings we had are taken. There's always the option to be on the waiting list and get first dibs whenever we have an opening again.

Actually.. the GM never franchised him.
The Lions signed him as a FA and they are now an open team. A good team.
I'm still annoyed with that guy who came in and said he wanted the team, only to do exactly nothing, and in the process let Marino go as a free agent. But that's in the past as a former owner and a quality guy has taken control over the Bucs.
We're starting the 1989 season on Sunday night, open teams are Los Angeles, Detroit (good team, with Dan Marino), St.Louis and New Orleans.
Three open teams left: Rams, Lions, Cardinals. Come and join in time for the 1989 draft!
