I'm pretty sure Toronto is more likely to someday land an NFL expansion team than Twiddle-Your-Sack, Arkansas

Maple Leafs

I just wonder which town you're talking about :)

On a related, if only vaguely so, note. I was doing a long ride (bicycle) from Cincinnati to Indy. In the middle of nowhere Indiana, on some lonely farming back-road I was on. . .

I come across a park...the name?

Man-Love Park

I didn't stop to look.

Possum Grape, Arkansas.

If memory serves correct, I think there's an Oil Trough, Arkansas.

I recall a Cut-and-Shoot, TX, somewhere around Houston.

And last night we had Wheel of Fortune on TV (my 3 year old loves that show because of the "big spinner"), and some lady was from a town in Tennessee that couldn't come up with a name - so they called it Nameless, TN.

Waycross, GA ("I'm from way cross Georgia...")

Cairo, GA (pronounced Kay-ro (and yes, the high school's nickname is the Syrupmakers)

This one hits close to home, since my last name is Karo. I try to pronounce my name like "care-oh," but everyone around here refuses to pronounce it that way. It's Kay-ro, and they spell it like Cairo. When I pronounce it, it's spelled Carroll. And even when they get the spelling somewhat correct, it's always with a C. Always. If I go to pick up medicine and spell my name for them, they still look in the C's.

And I still can't believe that is the high school's mascot. It's not like the town has anything to do with the syrup. That's pretty stupid, really.

Up north, it's pronounced correctly, although every now and then someone will pronounce it, "Car-oh." I still prefer that to Kay-ro.

Oh, and my mom's name is Carol. :D

Here's a site with a bunch of funny city names. I never knew there was a Lorida, FL, Crappo, MD, Enigma, GA, Half.com, OR, Humptulips, WA, or Monkey's Eyebrow, AZ!

Sadly, I have been to both Pilot Knob and Knob Lick. I also profess to living in Leachville.
