The demo is amazing on this game. Hopefully they've made it even better over the 3 months since the demo was released. Here's a preview of the final build.......

Wow, nice. As a big fan of the sport, I'd love to play a good F1 game on my console. This kind of games, plus the region-free thing, and my switch from Xbox to PS will be completed. Not at launch, tough...

Head out to some of the major sites and check out the videos of the races in the rain. As good as those videos look, it's unbelievable when you're actually playing it. I spun out numerous times when I was blinded by the water coming off the car in front of me. It's a whole different experience and you really have to slow down to avoid major problems.

F1, since the 1st PS, has been an incredible series.

Should be. IGN lists that as the US release date.

Yep, can't wait to get it. Should be a lot of fun. I read the IGN review and everything they didn't like about the career mode sounds like a lot of fun to me. I like a deep single player game. Sounds like it's a lot of work to get to the top and that's just how I want it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm really curious to hear some impressions from you guys, especially on the career mode.

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit. It's certainly a very deep career mode. It's limited to 5 seasons, but with the qualifying and setup runs in addition to the races, that's plenty of gaming. I love the saved replays. It reminds me a lot of the awe that I had when I watched the first Gran Turismo race replays. It honestly looks like a TV telecast.
One of my favorite features of this game is mid-race saves. You can play the full length races and save during the race if you have to quit for some reason. Big plus for me as I like to play full races but don't always have time to finish them in a playing session.
Best lap and race times are kept in your profile and you can race the ghost car of any of those records if you'd like to improve your times. Information for those of you who would like to improve your car setup is very deep. Lots of info to help you perfect your car setup. For those not quite as interested in that, there is a computer assisted setup that is a bit easier for the newbies but still allows you to make practice runs to improve your car.
Pit stops are pretty neat as you have to hit a sequence of buttons during the stop. The quicker and more proficient you are at hitting the correct buttons quickly, the better your pit stop will be. Telemetry information is great as well in helping to decide when to pit.
The highest level of realism can be a bit frustrating at times because they will assess rev limit penalties and will black flag you if you are running people off the track (though it does have to be REALLY excessive for that to happen). Thankfully, the options allow you to adjust it to your given comfort level.
Qualifying sessions are one hour sessions just like the real thing (though you can scale it down if you like). You race for 15 minutes and the bottom 6 times get the last 6 spots in the grid. Then you race for another 15 minutes and the bottom 6 times get the 11-16 spots in the grid. Then the last 10 have a shoot out to determine the top 10 spots in the grid. It's a fun race all on its own.
Career mode starts with you as a test driver. You then get offers from other teams or your team based on performance as the season goes along to be the second driver. Continue your improvement and you can become the first driver. Really good way to do it. It is work to move through the ranks, but it is rewarding when you do finally get to the elite levels.
Haven't played online play much yet, but with 11 human drivers with 11 AI drivers, it should be a good time. I'll report back in a couple of days once I give it a try.
I'm really happy with the game thus far. I'm sure the Euro gamers will love it even more as they are more familiar with a lot of the things surrounding the sport.
