Hey everyone,

I've been a longtime player of TCY and FOF and follower of FOFC but never posted so here goes for my first.

Personally I love playing simultaneous TCY and FOF careers as I think it's great that you can follow a guy from recruiting him from high school all the way to the hall of fame. As much as I love TCY, with the recent release of the outstanding FOF2k7 it has become clear that it is time for an update.

As most of you would know one of the most satisfying things of playing the TCY/FOF career is seeing which of your players get drafted, where they end up and how good they are in the pro game. Sometimes though there are times when the intergration between these two games needs to be better and a TCY update would resolve this problem.

During my current career I am coaching Ohio State in TCY and am the GM for the Buffalo Bills(a rebuilding challenge that has taken longer than expexted). Recently my Buckeyes had two QB's on the roster who were coming out at the same time. One was O.J. Centers, a star who started every game in his four fine years of college, at present he owns every school record. The second was his backup Jerry Marsh, unfortunately for Jerry he had to live in the shadows of O.J. and never saw much game time. While it was obvious that Marsh had some talent, the staff at Ohio State didn't rate him as highly as Centers.

When draft day came along after their graduation Marsh had become the number 1 rated QB in the draft, while Centers was nowhere near the top. Marsch ended up going at No.1 to the Colts, while I decided to take a punt on my college stud and signed him after he went undrafted. This is like Matt Cassell being taken No.1 and Carson Palmer or Matt Leinart going undrafted.

Now four seasons in pros shows Marsh finding his feet as the Colts starter and Centers as my 3rd string. I have included screenshots of my TCY career passing yards leaders and both QB's player cards after four seasons in the pros.

As you can see Marsh is fully developed with great ratings and was pretty much like that when he was drafted. Centers on the other hand isn't rated to badly but was so undeveloped when drafted it seemed like a waste of time starting him. My point is that surely the QB who has 4 years as a starter with 13,000 college yards under his belt should be more developed than a guy with 300 yards to his name.

I do realise that yes not all college starting QB's make the transition to the pro's, but I'm not sure the last time a backup who threw for 300 yards in four years of college was taken at number 1. This happens to often when importing TCY draft files, so many guys with no college stats getting drafted real early. This is a prime reason why TCY should be updated.

Does this annoy anybody else as much as me??

Sorry for the length of my first post but it has been building up. Also is there anybody else here from Australia??

Had the images on myspace but I can't post them or link them, sorry. Marsh is rated 70/70 and Centers is rated 25/61

I've never played TCY or done a draft import, but if memory serves me right, there is hardly any correlation between good players in college and their draft position when doing an import. It's always sounded pretty lame to me.

TCY players are imported based heavily upon their TALENT (ratings), not their performance. So, a 40/100 guy who never got much playing time in TCY will almost always be a better FOF player than a 75/75 TCY guy who was a starter.

Even in college though Centers was rated better than Marsh, Centers was like 90 in his senior year while Marsh was 25/75. The point I was trying to get across was that for further realism in these games things like college experience and development should be taken into consideration. That's why TCY should be updated!!

I don't have TCY, but I imagine this has got to be a PAAAAIN. Also, it steers me away from getting TCY as I really only wanted it as a way to further scout draftees. Take away that correlation and no thanks.

This is why I no longer import TCY drafts. In fact, I stopped a long time ago.

I would LOVE to see this area improved though.

What I do to counter this phenomenon is save the game before importing, then if I am not happy with the draft (especially at QB) I simply revert to the saved file and reimport it. This way I avoid #1 picks that are 5-10 QB's that threw 0 TD's and 8 picks that run a 4.9 40... :D
