FOFC Season 16 Preview
Daytona, FL - The engines are up and running at Daytona International Speedway as the drivers of the FOFC have returned for their 16th season of racing. Back are former champions Chris Snow, Telle Snow, Nick Phillips, It's Craptacular and Jeeber D Mack. Some other familiar names include Gold Golden, Billy Bushinhimer, Mustafa Henderson, Travis Elkin, and many others. The rookie class this season is a large one, including some drivers with the backing of big time teams in Aemon Snow with Snow Motorsports Inc. and C.R. Anderson with the backing of Golden Racing. Other rookies who will be vying for the rookie of the year title include Ken Schoonover, Dante McDowell, Andrew Foley, Boris Elvis, Wallace Bryant, Elvis Boris, Juan Carlos Ramirez, and Bret Provo.

Excellent. Jeeber is pleased...
If the 500 is anything like this then we are in for a treat. There were 21 lead changes throught the 32 laps. The dominant cars, even if there finished didn't show it, were Alejandro Murietta and Danny Golden. Heading into the final lap Michael Dervack made a daring move to take over the lead from 3rd place and barely held off the hard charging Telle Snow who ended up 2nd.

Looks like Phillips racing is supposed to be good this year. Lets hope so cause last year was terrible for Nick Phillips especially.

The top 5 finishers in last year's 500 are no longer in the series. The driver who finished 6th was Codge Daravan, look for him to win.
Only 19 cars were running at the end of this year's 500 as a few wrecks took out a lot of cars, but it was still exciting coming down to the end. Codge Daravan led Nick Phillips and Jobu Mack for about the last 15 laps. Battling along with Phillips and Mack were teammates of theirs who were both a lap down, Nick Phillips Jr. and Jeeber D Mack. It looked like Daravan was a sitting duck if the teammates ganged up and passed him. But, the drivers from Phillips Racing and the Mack's battled each other and seemed to forget about Daravan, and he held on for the victory. Dan Schoonover finished in 4th and Mustafa Henderson finished 5th. 6th went to Hans Bermuda and 7th to FOFC Racing legend Chris Snow. The top 10 was rounded out by rookies, Boris Elvis, Andrew Foley and Juan Carlos Ramirez. Ramirez had a very strong car earlier on and was out front for 35 laps.

Incredibly pleased with the start for Foley. A rookie driver and we get the pole and a top 10 finish. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come!

Phillips racing has won everything in the series but the 500. Nick Phillips came so close again but couldn't do it. Strong start for Phillips Racing though, nice to see.
It was a bad day for Golden Racing at Daytona. Gold Golden was our highest finisher in 16th. Both Danny Golden and C.R. Anderson were knocked out of the race. Danny was supposed to have a really good superspeedway car, but he never got to show it.
If anyone is interested I have compiled the stats from all the seasons that I have run the game, 6-16. You can check out the link below and see all of the stats.
Some interesting stats I found were that Travis Elkin, Telle Snow, Jeeber D Mack and It's Craptacular are the only drivers to race every race over all those seasons. Jobu Mack is the driver who has the most starts without a win, 165. Telle Snow has the most Top 5's with 40 and Nick Phillips has the most Top 10's with 71. The most wins belong to Nick Phillips with 13 and the most poles is Telle Snow with 20.

Phillips Racing is very pleased with the start of the season so far. Everyone is running well and qualifying looked pretty good. With 2 in the top 3 and 3 in the top ten we are expecting big things in Texas. Nick Phillips has never been to good at qualifying, but we have the car set up for the race. Phillips Racing will always give him a shot at the end of a race to make something happen and win.

After serving a 3 race suspension for use of an illegal substance in the fuel tank (a wild moonshine and tobacco spit cocktail) Team Redneck Racin today announced there intentions to run 2 rookies the remainder of the season.
Ron Towers will drive the #63 Copenhagen Ford and he will race teamate Strokher Ace and his Trojan condoms Ford for last place.
The team promises to be on its best behavior, and can't wait to compete.

The all-time leader in starts is It's Craptacular, who has never missed a race. He has started in 253 races. The leader in wins is Chris Snow with 20, Nick Phillips is 2nd with 15. The all-time leader in Top 5's is Chris Snow with 64, 2nd is Telle Snow with 54. The all-time leader in Top 10's are Nick Phillips and Telle Snow with 93, Chris Snow is only one back at 92. The leader in poles is Chris Snow with 31, Telle Snow is 2nd with 23. The all-time leader in DNF's is Mike Tokunaga with 57. The active leader in DNF's are Travis Elkin and Telle Snow with 45.
There were a couple dominant cars throughout the day and it showed as only 3 cars finished the race on the lead lap. The car that dominated early was the pole-sitter Jobu Mack who would go on to lead 155 laps throughout the day. Kyle Kappe, who started 5th, took the lead from Jobu after green flag pit stops and led 69 laps, before a piston broke on his car and he was forced to end his day, the only car to not be running at the end. Cassandra Snow, a rookie in only her 2nd race dominated the middle portion of the race. She had lapped all but one car, Jobu Mack, before a yellow during green flag pit stops put some cars back onto the lead lap. One of those cars was Nick Phillips. Cassandra's car faded and Jobu Mack retook the lead with Nick Phillips right with him the entire time. On the final long green flag run Phillips overtook Mack and held him off to pick up the win. Gold Golden was the only other driver to finish on the lead lap. Phillips' son Nick Phillips Jr. finished in 4th and Jobu's brother Jeeber finished 5th.

Phillips Racing is very happy with the way this season is going with 3 of the top 4 drivers from their garage.
Nick Phillips won his first race in the last 3 seasons.
"After retirement I haven't done as well, but this season is a new year and Phillips Racing is looking to be back on top. I still don't like to see Chris Snow up in the top 5 cause I know the kind of driver he is."

FC Racing off to a struggling start to this season.
I didn't have any pictures for Texas but I will have pictures for each of the remaining races.
I'm thinking of moving the races from 3 days apart to 2 days apart. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I can't add more drivers right now without having to get rid of ones already in the game. Since I started the season with 35 I can't go above that. I added Ron Towers to the game recently because I got rid of one of my own drivers and added him. But, you will have a spot reserved for you in the next season which will start right after this one. The current season ends on March 19.
The race was dominated by a few drivers. Early on it was Billy Bushinhimer, then Telle Snow and C.R. Anderson took turns leading. After a while though it became clear that there were two cars better than the rest. Chris Snow took the lead and slowly began picking off car after car. Before long, only one other car was on the lead lap, Jobu Mack. With 72 laps left, Jobu Mack took the lead and would never look back. Jobu continues his torrid pace through the first three races by picking up his first career win.

Charlotte, NC - Golden Racing has announced today that Danny Golden and the #62 car will no longer be racing this season. After three races in which Danny struggled mightily, Gold Golden has decided to pull the plug on his son's team. Golden Racing has not ruled out the possibility that the #62 car will back for Season 17.

In reality? no, in this simulation, yes.
Though I have witnessed a NASCAR race where only 2 drivers finished on the lead lap, so it does happen, just not as regularly as this sim seems to make it seem.

It used to happen frequently in old school Indy Racing before the idiots screwed up the Cart PPG Indy Racing league...
I've seen a lot more of the entire field getting lapped in this season than any before. That may have to do with running 2003 instead of 2002 now, I'm not really sure. But cars seem to run very strong at times and build up huge leads, but then after pit stops those same cars sometimes fade very quickly and a new car steps up and dominates.

Phillips Racing is experiencing some good racing among its drivers with a win from Phillips Bushinhimer and Henderson already this season. Nick Phillips however is not running as strong in his last two races.

I don't know why they haven't done well. They seem to run well in most practices. But qualifying and during the races they just don't get it done. Also, their are a few drivers, probably 10-15, that are always near the front. They seem to just have better cars than the rest of the field. If you look at the standings which will be up in a minute. The Snows, Phillips Racing and the Mack's take up 8 of the top 10 spots, even though not one of those drivers has any stats the same. I think they've just figured out the right stat set and it's working. And my drivers are 15th and 22nd, and I thought I had this whole stat set thing figured out. And then a lot of it is just luck. Kappe has had a great car most of the year, I think he's actually led more laps than anyone else, yet is 33rd in points.

Finally Kyle Kappe breaks through in a big way coming from his 25th starting position to lead the races final 12 laps to take the victory over Chris Snow. Murietta came in 3rd followed by Craptacular and T.E. Almighty. There really wasn't any one dominant driver throughout the day, Telle Snow led the most laps with 30 but finished 25th. The top rookie was C.R. Anderson in 7th. Phillips Racing had a poor effot with points leader Mustafa Henderson finishing 22nd.

MUHahahahahahaha!!!
A huge wreck with only 17 laps left knocked many contenders out of the race and damaged other contenders cars enough to end their chances at victory. Dan Schoonover, Ken Schoonover, Cassandra Snow, Andrew Foley, Jeeber D Mack and Aemon Snow were all involved in the wreck while running in the Top Ten. Foley had a terrific car, he was battling with Nick Phillips for the top spot for much of the day. After the wreck, Juan Carlos Ramirez took the lead on the restart and led a few laps before being passed by David Gonzalez. Gonzalez never looked back and held on for the win. Nick Phillips had the dominant car all day but had to start at the back of the pack for the restart and couldn't quite move his way back through to the front.

I'm starting to think a top 20 points position is feasible, even missing the first few races...
It was a bad day for Chris Snow and Jeeber D Mack but a great day for Phillips Racing. Phillips Racing swept the top three spots with Mustafa Henderson taking the win. Title contender Jeeber D Mack finished dead last after having clutch problems early on. And with 80 laps left an accident with Deacon Palmer knocked Chris Snow out of contention.

It was an interesting day in the title race at Atlanta. The biggest incident occured with 83 laps remaining. Chris Snow was leading, Jeeber D Mack was in second and they were coming up on Mustafa Henderson to lap him. Mustafa and Chris tangled up flew into the wall. Jeeber managed to get by with minimal damage. Both Mustafa and Chris were knocked out of the race as a result. Jeeber's car was damaged enough to end his chances at winning. Nick Phillips ended up taking the lead. He led until 26 laps to go when It's Craptacular took over and won. Snow and Henderson weren't the only title contenders with problems, Billy Bushinhimer was involved in an earlier wreck and finished 31st.

On the first green flag run you were dominate and had about a 6 or 7 second lead before a yellow came out. After pitstops under yellow your car was never the same.

Ouch. Tough week for Tiny Racing.
As shown in today's race, anything can happen in this points chase. Nick Phillips came into the race in 4th place, 79 points back of the leader and leaves 9 points up on Chris Snow. Billy Bushinhimer's problems drop him from 3rd all the way to 7th. The field is bunched up quite a bit now. 1-9, and possibly 10, all have a shot at the title yet. The top 4 are only separated by 33 points and 5th place Andrew Foley is 84 back and Jobu Mack is 85 back. But Phillips showed that that amount of points can easily be made up in just one race.

Only 3 races remaining and we still have a few drivers that can win it all. Chris Snow retakes the lead and is up by 6 on Phillips. Is this a repeat of Season 8 when Snow won the title by only 1 point over Phillips?
Jeeber D Mack is still right in this, only 29 behind Snow. Rookie Andrew Foley remains strong and is keeping himself in the title chase, he's 80 back on Chris Snow. That late race accident at Talledega after running 2nd most of the day really hurts right now.
Jobu Mack is 5th, 112 back. But as Phillips showed, plenty of points can be made up in just one race so Jobu is still very mich in this chase.
Mustafa Henderson is 6th and 130 back and Alejandro Murietta is 7th and 132 back. These two drivers are going in opposite directions. Henderson is on a free fall and Murietta has been the series best driver as of late.
8th, 9th, and 10 with It's Craptacular, Billy Bushinhimer and Telle Snow aren't out of it yet, but would need a lot of help to win the title. Bushinhimer, like his teammate Henderson, is really struggling as of late. Craptacular and Telle are the last two race winners.

Rookie Andrew Foley remains strong and is keeping himself in the title chase, he's 80 back on Chris Snow. That late race accident at Talledega after running 2nd most of the day really hurts right now.
Ain't that the damn truth...
I couldn't have asked for a better rookie season, though. I should easily get Rookie of the Year and maybe a team sponsorship next season :) I would love to upset the field and take the title, but either way, this season has been a great success for Foley.
Next race will be up tonight.
On the race's final restart with 12 laps left, Chris Snow was 2nd and Nick Phillips 3rd. But by the end of that final green flag dash Snow found himself back in 11th and Phillips finished 4th, giving Phillips the points lead. Jeeber D Mack and Jobu Mack both had their championship hopes severely damaged as they were involved in the same accident early in the race. Alejandro Murietta puts together another good performance with a 3rd.
C.R. Anderson ran well for most of the day but didn't take the lead until there were 4 laps left, but he wouldn't look back from there and took the victory.

Once again Jeeber D did all that he could to try and win a title by winning the race, but he came up short in the final standings.
The battle came down to Nick Phillips and Chris Snow. If the race had ended with 50 laps left, Chris Snow would have been the champion. He was running 2nd while Phillips was back in 13th. But, Snow would fall a lap down and Phillips slid up a few spots and came home as the champion yet again.

Well, I kind of slid down the last few races, but 8 Top 10's, 4 Top 5's, 1 pole, only one DNF, and the second most laps finished in my rookie season makes me quite happy. Plus a Rookie of the Year award is always nice :) Hopefully if I tweak a few things I can move up and contend for a title next season. Thanks Gold!

FC Racing had an interesting season. Murietta started out very slow, but was finished 4th in the standings and should be in title contention next year. Gonzalez is way too inconsistent right now.

This ever going to be brought back to life? I was looking through some old PM's and remembered it. I don't recall how often it was done in the past, but I enjoyed it (since as how I was R.O.T.Y., I have hype to live up to!)
