Unconfirmed reports that MLB and DirectTV are discussing an exclusivity package for Extra Innings package similar to NFL Sunday Ticket.

Hmm, article discusses potential FCC review of the deal (unconfirmed by DirectTV, but Sen. Kerry leaked letter regarding FCC review). I don't see how it could be stopped if the NFL deal is ok.

Pros:

He did post this at 4am, so we should cut him some slack.

Cons:

The other thread had some action about 12:30am so it was likely near the top of the forum when he posted. And, the thread title isn't some mysterious, "could be about anything" reference, it plainly refers to the MLB/DirecTV deal.

On balance, I tend to think we should STRING HIM UP! ;)

Yeah, when I first read it, I actually thought it was a post from weeks ago that got passed over in favor of the other thread, and someone was trying to make a point that this one was onto the issue first. But no, it was just a bit behind the times.

Yeah, I was in a rush when I was just quickly checking the sports before getting some sleep. I thought it was pretty big news for around here and so I posted it. Funny thing is that I actually did a search with MLB, ,extra innings, and direct tv, and nothing popped up, so I posted it. Don't know why the search didn't show that other thread. All that came up was somebody talking about switching from Dish to Direct TV or something like that. You can check that yourself. Oh well.

The search function does actually blow. Everytime I try to find "The Wire" thread, I fail. I think it has something to do with the quotes.
