Due do the paucity of posts regarding FOF4 I was wondering whether this game has gone over nearly as well as 2001 (2002 doesn't really count since it was basically just a roster update). I played the crap out of 2001, but I have hardly touched FOF4. I was wondering whether that's the general case here, or whether I'm in a small minority.

I voted 2001 just because I haven't had enough time yet to play FOF4 as much as I did FOF2001.

Not particularly. That phrase just happens to be one of the few "underground trendy" ones that I've ever picked up & kept around.

lost interest in football- and thus FOF- a couple of years ago. Fortunately, this is a great community, so I've stuck around.

Agreed. There have been additions and new features implemented since FOF2K1, but nothing that actually makes the game more fun.
FOF4 is better overall product that any of its predecessors, but just doesn't captivate me like going from Madden, Total Control Football, FPS Pro or Football Mogul to FOF2 did at the time of its release.

Me too. I tried playing FOF4, but I was just annoyed with all of the details.
FOF2 is the best in the series because it has a great interface, sims fast, is reasonably accurate, and isn't too detailed.
It would be perfect if someone would just fix the playoff injury bug, realign the divisions, add busts and breakouts to the draft, and fix the TCY import feature.
Alas, I don't think that will ever happen. . .
Unless Jim and EA decided to make it open source!;)
(and why not? FOF4 is supposedly a complete re-write from the ground up:D )
