Anyone interested in helping, contributing, etc an FOFC Wiki? I can put it up on my host but I want to test the waters and see what anyones feelings about it are first. Let me know and I can look into proceeding getting it set up.

This would strictly be for the board, and not really for the game FOF itself, but if people wanted to add content for FOF or any other games, no one is going to stop you and I'd completely support that as well.

I believe he means a site with information about the board. I would assume it would contain the list of IWS winners, FTB answers, entries for each member potentially, etc.

I had been meaning to post this and try to get folks to fill in some of the gaps in some of the text sims that have no wiki information.

There are a number of good text sims that have little to no information on them. If they could get even a little pub and business from wiki, maybe they will continue to be developed and improve.

A wiki is a general term to describe a kind of software that lets people collaborate and edit each others work. Wikipedia is the most famous example of a wiki. Does that explain the difference?

Do either of you know how to make a template that takes parameters as a list? I don't think you can. I want to make an IWS template where you pass the list of questions and the list of winners, but I don't know that there's an elegant way to do it.

I'd have no problem with giving the three of you Sysop access. Let me look over the docs and see the powers each access level has.

sysop

This is the most common privileged user. A user marked as 'sysop' can delete and undelete pages, protect and unprotect pages, block and unblock IPs, issue read-only SQL queries to the database, and use a shortcut revert-to-previous-contributor's-revision feature in contribs. See Help:Administration for details. (Due to something of a historical accident, users with sysop status are generally referred to as 'administrators' or 'admins' on the English Wikipedia, and most likely elsewhere.)

Look at the current design for the FOF description and then write something like that for any game you are interested in.

FYI the FOFC Wiki is currently down for upgrades. Any changes you would like me to make at this time?

Should I allow anonymous editing posting? Or should I continue to require accounts?

Find a way to add Phallid to the Wiki.

The FOFC Wiki is back online and up to date. If anyone is interested in maybe helping with some type of redesign that would be awesome. I haven't really played much with Wiki and don't know if there are like themes or styles that I can get. I'm going to look around tonight.

I've recently thought of the wiki and was wondering what people would like to see there that isn't.

Never knew this existed.

I'd love to see more member bios and famous thread entries. A lot of possibilities here.

Just a notice to the minders of the wiki, there needs to be a search and replace done on the links to have them point to OperationSports now.

Yeah I just went back and checked the FTB links and they seem to work, but man, that's gonna be a lotta work!

Thanks cartman.

I get a database error "SQL query hidden" on every page.

Yeah, I spoke too soon, looking into it now. I don't have that table...

It's all fixed! Let me know if you see more errors, not sure what other things will need to be fixed since I moved domains on it.

I think the active and well known posters needs to be updated, Airhog hasnt been online since 12-30-07.

Just wanted to throw this out there again and wanted to thank Lorena for being so good at updating things.

If anyone else wants to contribute have at it.

Also if someone wants to get me a skin/theme design that fits the FOFC site better I'd be more then happy to make it so.

Figured I'd give an update since there hasn't been much done on this in 2009. I've updated to the current version of Media Wiki, also the site got bot spammed and I cleaned everything up. Thanks again to all those that have contributed.

I'm contemplating shutting this thing down. Very few updates the past year and I'm getting tired of having to go back through it every month and revert edits from Bots.
