View Full Version : Running game seems a little "off"?

I have played several seasons of single player in the 2007 version of FOF and the running game still doesn’t feel right to me. I know the endurance/fatigue settings probably come into play more in this version than the previous, but I can’t seem to figure out what I can do to get more consistent numbers rushing for my back.

One thing that stands out to me is that you hardly ever see a game in which backs from both teams rush for 20+ carries (and it seems that it is even rare for any backs to rush 20+ times). This seemed to me to be a fairly common occurrence in the 2004 version. I haven’t really looked back at the past NFL seasons to see how often this happens in real life, so maybe this version mirrors the actual NFL more.

If endurance is a key to how many times your back rushes, how high of endurance does your back have to have to average 20+ rushes per game? I had a back that had a 75 endurance rating and still couldn’t seem to get him 300+ attempts in a season (and he didn’t miss any games due to injury).

I do notice at the end of the season that the rushing totals for the league look fairly accurate (except for the average yards per carry – they seem a bit low). 1,000 yard rushers look about right and the attempts as a whole don’t look too far off base. I must admit that I favor the running game over the passing game, and maybe I’m looking too hard at this but I was wondering if anyone else had the same feeling. Thanks for any responses.

75 endurance should be ample on a quality back to get 300+ carries in theory, if your percentages are geared towards that approach. Ensure his playing time is 90% plus, if you really want this guy to feature. The big key though is winning, you get behind and you will start throwing more and your philosophy will go out the window. You could alter the gameplan adjustments screen, but you have to be careful your not going after stats for stats sakes.
