Looking for turn based strategy games I came upon this site: Man!festo Games (http://www.manifestogames.com/) and thought I'd share, in cas anybody has never heard about it.
For a newbie to strategy games like me, the one thing I like is that they list games by genre, one of them being turn based strategy.
I would think most of the hardcore games we have here already know about it but a search returned nothing so there it is...

Battle for Wesnoth rocks!
I'm quickly finding that out. This is the coolest game I've played in ages and I'm just doing the tutorial. :)

I tried it a couple years ago and don't remember being that impressed. Maybe I should give it another shot. What makes it so great in your opinion?

1) The number of different units.
2) The fact that you can level the units into different units.
3) That the factions have unique flavors.
4) Time of day effects
5) Alignments
6) Resistances
7) Campaigns
8) MP ready
9) Its free!

Strange Adventures in Infinite Space is very fun, but it's been updated.

The time limits on Wesnoth tend to be pretty brutal in my opinion. It's the one gripe I have with the game.
