View Full Version : Looking for suggestions for a bowling team name

This weekend, I will be participating in a charity bowling event. I have been given the assignment of providing our team with a name. I am trying to come up with ideas, and I've almost drawn a blank so far. The most suitable names for this particular event would have an aquatic theme, but it's certainly not necessary. Right now, I'm leaning toward "Colossal Squids" or something to do with a trout, but my mind is open at the moment.

Any suggestions? I welcome all responses. :)

Lots of good stuff in here, guys. Of our 4-person team, I only know my wife. She knows the other people on our team, but I don't. I'll have to run some of these by her and see which ones she thinks they'd agree to.

Growing up as a kid in the 70's, I was on a bowling team called the Thunderballs. My mom even stiched bowling shirts for us that said Thunderballs on the back. We were good too.

Brew crew is the most over-used name in amateur sports. I play on a softball and soccer team here, and have seen that name used in both leagues.

Evidently, I missed the memo that the theme for this year's event was the Old West. The event is called the "Fish Bowl" (I don't know why), so I thought we were supposed to go with an aquatic name. Instead, there's going to be some cowboy-related stuff at the Fish Bowl this year. Ah, well.

The team has decided to go with the name "Pin Wranglers." I'm OK with it, but I wanted Operation Shutdown. Dr. Tudors and I thank you all for the suggestions!
