View Full Version : Have we forgotten courtesy???

Or am I just getting the bad end of some luck. Over the past half month I've had two people just decide not to write letters of recommendation that they said they would leaving me to scramble at the last minute. It sucked, but I got it done...just really stressful and had me worried since I was pretty last minute anyway on my applications.
Then tonight, I talk to a girl last night about going to the Hornets game tonight. I call her when I'm done with work and she's allegedly been sick all day from food poisoning. She might be sick, she might not, but can't anyone just freaking pick up the phone and call when you're going to just not do something.
Am I just old-fashioned or do I need to meet new people? This kind of shit always happens to me...not just this month, but it's been even more clustered.

At least she didn't want you to engrave her ipod.

She probably did have food poisoning (didn't sound very sick though). But, still, I had to call her an hour before the event twice (didn't get an answer the first time) to find out she wasn't coming. I mean, just give me a call, tell me you're sick, and then let me know. I'm just tired of people not coming through and not having the courtesy to let me know so I can make alternate arrangements. It's really quite annoying.

If she really had food poisoning, I understand not calling (don't like it, but I understand it). The other stuff I agree with.

Ask her out to something she will REALLY want to go to, then never show up. When she calls to find out why you're late just say "That's tonight already? Let me see if I can get some tickets..."

In Fever Pitch when the girl had food poisoning, the guy spent the night at her apartment, cleaning the place, and even brushed the dog's teeth. If you didn't do at leas that, I can understand why she doesn't have interest! :)

The fact you admitted watching Fever Pitch scares me.

I had far greater success learning Led Zeppelin lyrics than picking up chicks as a teen, so you're probably not too far off-base.

I was more focused on trying to get into a date than out of one.
