Any FOFCers in Santa Monica?

Just got my E3 registration stuff, and I thought "Y'know, I think I'll see what hotel rates are like for those three days."

Yeah, it's a 4,000 attendee summit instead of 25x that, and they're still charging $400/night for a hotel room. So screw that.

My current plan is to drive out there each day, but I'm not familiar with what parking is like in Santa Monica. Any locals got the skinny?

I work right next to Santa Monica, you're pretty much going to have to pay for parking anywhere you go, either meters or paid public parking.

Where is it in Santa Monica, exactly? Which hotel? Depending on proximity there are some parking tricks (for 18 months I worked at Ocean and Wilshire).

It's spread out over about a half-dozen hotels.

What I'm doing right now is trying to find something near'ish to Santa Monica hotel-wise. I ain't spendin' $350/night, but if I can find something for at or under $100, I may make a go of it.
