Maybe I'm in the dark, but I don't remember v2004 CPU teams doing this.

There are a few of these "franchise" players with big signing bonuses like this and I think it's great to see. The Bengals did make $2 mil last year, so it seems they did the right thing to keep Palmer in Cincy.
