As it seems every Season, I am finding the Battle to avoid relegation much more exciting than the battle at the top of the table for the Title and the spots in Europe. West Ham is on fire finally pulling themselves out of the drop zone with the win over Bolton today. Needing only a draw in their final game to stay up, but with that game being Man U away, it looks like the Hammers will need Sheffield to either beat or draw with Wigan at Home to secure safety.

Charlton is still alive at this point, but I don't see them pulling 6 points from Tottenham and Arsenal in their final two. Another scenario could see both Wigan and West Ham stay up if Wigan beats Sheffield by two goals and West Ham draw with Man U, which is possible if Man U wrap up the Title Wednesday by beating Chelski.

Not a premiership fan, but relegation battles are almost always more exciting than promotion/title battles. So that definitely gets my vote.

Funny, I was reading BigSoccer last night..really for the first time and I saw all of these threads talking about MLS and how it was better than other leagues because of the lack of promotion/relegation.

I think they're on crack, but that's just me.

MLB could use a relegation system if you ask me :)

Normally the relegation battles are much more interesting imho as the CL places are generally more or less foregone conclusions by this point of the season.

The title tangle between Chelsea and Man Utd has been great this season, but nothing has hooked me as much as West Ham (and Bobby Zamora's ;) ) comeback to (hopefully) escape relegation ...

I chose the battle for European places (not CL really...but UEFA spots)

Though I could be biased as a Spurs fan and we're fighting for fifth (and in the drivers seat...untill we screw up...I'm thinking the Blackburn match.)

Now that Man U has clinched the Championship we will see if they play some of their younger guys against West Ham next Saturday. The relegation battle will go to the last weekend of Games, it will be a great day of Soccer.

It would have been even better if Chelsea had won today and gone on to win midweek against Manchester United, then the Man U v West Ham game would potentially decide everything.

I would LOVE for the NBA/NFL/MLB to have relegation system.

Yes, I am aware that it will not ever happen. I'm just opining.

This year i have to say the title race. Now i'm hoping West Ham go down because of the FA's total lack of balls in handling the Tevez/Maschirano situation.

Loss to Man U + Wigan barely beating Sheffield will get it done. No way Charlton is coming up with 6 points in their 2 games.

That is pretty much what I want to happen. Of course it could be a moot point with the impending lawsuits if the Hammers do manage to stay up.

I'd be all for it as well.

I know but I want West Ham to stay up....That scenario would have meant a Man U ass kicking for the Hammers :)
