"With the first pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Brian Brohn, quarterback from Louisville."
"With the second pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select Early Doucet, wide receiver from LSU."
Guess I can turn on the draft a little late next year......

got to add RB Darren McFadden to that list, he's a Jr
if you want an early '08 draft rumor McFadden is from Arkansas, where Jerry Jones went to school, and the Cowboys were shopping their leading rusher (Julius Jones) and have two first round picks next year

See, initially I thought they were just listing Seniors in that list, but the article also breaks down each positions ranking for next year's draft, and Brandon Ore, a junior, is listed as the #2 RB. The running back list, for those interested are:
Running Backs
1. Allen Patrick, Oklahoma
2. Branden Ore, Virginia Tech
3. Mike Hart, Michigan
4. Dantrell Savage, Oklahoma State
5. Tashard Choice, Georgia Tech
I'm wondering where McFadden and Steve Slaton are, since both will probably head to the NFL after this year.

The first qb chosen will be Booty. That's my guess.

My opinion is that the Colts will have the 32nd pick again :)

With no first rounder next year that'll be hard.

I thought Desean Jackson out of Cal was expected to be the clear-cut #1 WR next year.

I think I'm still in denial that the Colts gave up a first round pick

It's always funny to watch these things develop. I remember a few years back when this came out before the season and Marcus McNeill was listed as a top 5 pick as a tackle coming out of Auburn. Then over the course of the year his stock fell a ton (impacted heavily by concerns about his back, but not entirely) and he went 50th overall to the Chargers. He of course goes out and has a great year for them and a lot of people think he's basically a franchise LT for San Diego's future. Makes you wonder if teams/the media/fans don't just think themselves out of some very smart picks over the ups and downs of a year of the hype rollercoaster.

I am guessing that Ore being on it, as an underclassman, was a mistake. Most of the draftniks said throughout the season that McFadden would be in consideration for the top pick this season, had he been eligible to come out. I suspect these are the seniors (with the mistake of Ore) only on this list. McFadden will, barring injury or legal woes, be a top 3 pick next season.

I think Long will go first overall to the Raiders next year.

yeah i agree completely, ESPN types only deal with seniors this time of year thats why McFadden and Desean Jackson are not listed

With the 1st pick of the 2008 draft, the Washington Redskins select Andre Woodson, QB Kentucky.

Are you sure they wouldn't trade the pick for Larry Johnson or something crazy like that? ;)

A few glaring omissions like McFadden and Slaten. I think he's also a bit high on the QB's. We'll see how it plays out. Two years ago, it was a no brainer by the "experts" that Leinart would be #1. (until week 2 when Bush got the projection) This year they shoved Brady Quinn down our throats in the preseason hype.
Looking at the list of guys, I'd say Long, Baker and Dorsey are locks for the top ten, unless they have some major injury. All play critical positions and I just don't see any of them slipping at this point considering the teams they play for. I'd be stunned if all three of those QB's were to go in the top ten.

Dorsey isn't even the best DL prospect on LSU's line, IMO. I think Tyson Jackson(6-5, 295 DE than can get to the QB) will be a top 5 pick next year and Dorsey more of a 10-20 guy. But then again, before last year I would have thought Landry was more of a 10-20 guy.
Early still has a lot to prove, but if he can get 900+ yards and 6+ TDs, he should have the workouts to be a top 20 guy. Top 10? He would have to have a monster year, difficult with a new QB under center and so many other weapons around him.
