Terrell Davis could be back in a Denver Broncos uniform in 2003.
The former Pro Bowl running back has agreed in principle on a contract and hopes to finalize a restructured deal Wednesday to remain with the Broncos, ESPN.com's John Clayton is reporting.
Although Davis chose not to play last season because of his injured knees, he never officially informed the league that he was retiring.
Davis was scheduled to make $5.7 million this season. Davis, entering his ninth year, instead would make $655,000, the minimum for a player who has been the league six to nine years.
This is pretty interesting stuff. Personally, I don't see how he can ever come back and be more than a #2 or #3 running back. He's not nearly the same player he was.
