28 Weeks Later

Saw this on Friday and was very bored by it. Even an hour and a half seemed too long.

The "action" scenes sucked ass. The camera was so shaky and there was so much close-up crap that I didn't know what was going on. The kids are just dumb.

Not sure what else to say. I only liked the first half of the first movie, and didn't like this one at all.

Oh, there were two cool visuals in the movie... the firebombing, and the helicopter slaughtering a field full of the infected. But other than that, nothing good or cool.

went from suspense in the first one to action in the 2nd.

Yeah, once they got in the house the main guy went from bike courier to super ninja. And they had those trap doors in the house or something. It was such a weird change for me.

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good.

There were some terrible plot holes and some completely nonsensical things.

I did enjoy the ending though, and I thought the beginning in the cottage was actually pretty decent.

I also enjoyed not seeing the usual stereotypical Zombie movie asshole character.

Apparently they're thinking of a "28 months later", and (possibly just Danny Boyle making a joke) even "28 years later" or even further.

Those concepts do interest me, especially as a fan of apocalyptic fiction, but I'm hard-pressed to really believe that they'd work out well.

Precisely how I felt about the first movie. The setup was terrific, it just didn't know where to go from there.

To be fair, the director admitted as much in the commentary. In mid-filming, he suddenly realized that his original resolution just wasn't going to work logically, so he blew it out of the water.

I don't remember what the original ending was exactly, but I know it had something to do with a full body transfusion or something.

I think the same. First 30 minutes were cool. Once the sniper met up with the group of people, it turned into a trailer for the third installment.
