Surprised that there hasn't been a thread on this yet.
Can Street Sense win a race that isn't at Churchill Downs? He's the current betting favorite, with runner-up two weeks ago Hard Spun second favorite.
The race is a bit shorter, and there won't be as much traffic as a couple of weeks ago, as only 9 horses are entered.

An unusually run race -- a pretty aggressive pace throughout, and an eye-catching finish. Both of the top two finishers seem very talented, but definitely got to run behind a front tier that was way too cooked - especially HARD SPUN who spent a lot of energy on the early backstretch, to my surprise. I didn't see much value in this race, and sat it out betting-wise... probably for the best, as I don't think I would have hit that mighty $23 exacta. *shurg*
Looking forward to the Belmont, though.

I sat it out too as the tri-box was the only real play and I haven't seen the payout but it seemed like a stupid reason to drive to the OTB.

I'm suprised the trifecta paid 50. I thought it would have been less.

So who one?
Curlin by a head over Street Sense.
Same top 3 as the derby for the first time in a while.

The last time the same three took the top spot must have been Silver Charm/Captain Bodgit/Free House in, ummm... 1997? (2nd/3rd reversed fromm teh Derby to the Preakness, whose order is above)

Absolutely FABULOUS race! Wow... Curlin was passed by Street Sense, just as the horses rounded the last turn, but instead of fading back, Curlin put it into another gear and caught the horse that passed him, beating him by a head.
Great race, and well done by Curlin who showed some great heart there.
