I guess Stallone is going through his movies and adding a long awaited (by who?) sequel. His latest and greatest....another Rambo sequel.

As much as I laughed and wanted to make fun of another Rambo movie coming out at this point, that might've just blown my mind.

I'm quite excited now.

You're kidding yourself if you think all that gore was done without any CGI help.

This was a terrific trailer (and bloody, too, only before 'R' films that is for sure) to get the juices going. But was anyone surprised by the low key, low tech finish? That "Stallone"..."as John Rambo" was so early 80s. Maybe they're going for a nostalgia effect.

This looks better than any other Rambo film, including the only one I can actually watch, First Blood. If they eliminated any other sequels, this would rock even more.

for some reason he seems more believable as Rambo in this movie than as 60 year old Rocky.

Interesting move there, with the studio going all balls out and leaking cool footage for once. Hopefully they won't have to edit it too severly to still get an R rating. When does it come out?

You're kidding yourself if you think all that gore was done without any CGI help.

I think I'm going to have to disagree with you here. If there is some CGI in there, it's literally the best I've ever seen. To me it just looks like old school over-the-top "special effects."

That being said, i have no real interest in this movie.

If we have all of these scenes, why the long lag time? Is it because they couldn't fit it in this summer's schedule and have to wait for next?

With the image quality (or lack thereof) of this video, it's hard to tell for certain. That said, the vast majority of movies with any kind of budget nowadays use CGI for all kinds of things you wouldn't notice. I'd be shocked if they actually did all of the gore and blood spatter strictly with old fashioned methods.

See the extra features on the Shawn of the Dead DVD for an example of CG work that fits in pretty seamlessly, and that's a movie that didn't have a huge budget.

This has made me think: I wonder if CG has gotten to the point where in some cases it might actually be cheaper to CG things then to use whatever the olden-times method would be?

I have to think film budgets are showing this is not the case.

Unfortunatley I recognized the actress... she plays one of my most hated characters in the Angel/Buffy universe. Stallone and B/C level actors... winning combo.
