I got an iPod as an early birthday gift and I love it. It gets me through the work day by listening to podcasts. It is also helping me get back into serious shape, with the iPod Nike+ component.

The only complaint that have with it so far is the organization of it. I just do not like looking through all of my albums and seeing my podcasts in there as well. In an ideal world, I would love to be able to organize everything by folders. Like for my podcasts, it would be great if I had soccer, poker, etc. and I could just pick from whatever I wanted to listen to.

Does anyone of a program that lets you do this? I did a quick Google search with no luck, but I admittedly did not look that hard.

I've never heard of any software you can download to manage the iPod, but I got a new iPod for my birthday (my old one died on me) and I've noticed that it's organized differently than my old one. There is a separate "tier" under the music category for Podcasts, as well as one for compilations and composers. I'm sure there are other changes that I just haven't noticed yet as well. I'm not sure if these are changes in the iPod software or in iTunes, but you may want to check and see if you are running the most recent version of iTunes.

You might be able to get similar results with playlists and smart playlists. I don't think it will do any hierarchy though.

Try these:

And for more iPod software, check out the link to my site. There are a couple more (if I remember corretly) organizers that may better suit your taste.
