Monitor recommendations?

I'm putting together a new computer rig, and plan on fixing my old one and giving it to the kids. My dilemma is what monitor should I go with. My new computer is going to have a NV8800 GTS 320MB gfx card, what would be a good monitor to go with it. Upper limit of the budget is $350, but I'd like to say under $300.

It must be as big as possible, any small monitors makes you less of a man.
