Hosted Exchange Server - SEC Compliant

I turn to FOFC with a business question, at long last.

My small business (that I am a part of, not that I own) is looking at moving our email to a hosted Exchange server. This is somewhat complicated by the fact that we technically fall under broker-dealer regulations. So we need an e-mail archiving solution that is SEC & NASD compliant.

Everything I've seen online so far seems to go through Global Relay. Which is NOT cheap ($500 setup fee, $200 per month). Does anyone know of any alternatives that are cheaper? The sticker-shock is really huge with that.

I don't know anything about SEC or NASD complicance, but that sounds like a good deal for Exchange hosting--it's an expensive service.

That's assuming you don't need more than, say 10-15 accounts. If you need less I'm sure you could find it for cheaper.

oh we need less. We're talking like...3-4 accounts. The accounts themselves are cheap, you can get them for like $10/user per month. it's the archiving where they really screw you and throw these huge $'s at you

I would definately shop around. Just googling around I found alot of companies offering SEC/NASD compliant archiving--most want you contact them for a quote. Did find one that listed pricing, SECCAS (http://www.seccas.com , click "Sign up"), which seems to be moderately cheaper, with an initial fee of < $300 and a monthly fee of a little less than $200 for their 5 account plan.

yeah I came across seccas earlier. There seem to be 2 major "players" with one (G____ R____) holding the lion's scare of the market, and SECCAS a distant second. Just wondering if the collective wisdom here had come across another option, or knew of a home-made option or whatever.
