I've seen some tourney stories on another message board but haven't seen anything mentioned here thus far. I saw one floor manager post this on a message board........

Mission Accomplished...on my first day :)

I tilted Phil Hellmuth today!!!!!!! I happened to be walking past his table and noticed he was on the phone when the dealer started to pitch the cards. PH was on the button and I called his hand dead (the dealer wasn't about to do it...dumbass). PH was displeased and took forever to finally muck his AJ s00ted (as if he had a choice). I walked away a happy man :)

It doesn't take alot of effort to piss Helmuth off.

Do floor managers really get off on this stuff?

For 99% of the field, no.

For Hellmuth or a few other powder kegs, yes.

FWIW.....he would have done the same thing for anyone else talking on the phone. It's just that he knew what would happen once he did so.

Here's a comment from a dealer turned floor manager about which job he likes better. Lost 10 pounds in 3 days from all the walking in the poker room......

Well, other than the fact that I have yet to have a single break, let alone lunch, and am literally on my feet from the time I get there to the time I leave, constantly walking, breaking tables, doing this and that etc.....I still prefer this over dealing. I walk about 8 miles a day in total, and have lost 10 pounds in 3 days :) John is right tho...$$$$ vs $$. I DO miss the ability to "pass the buck" to the floors when the asshole players (about 60% of the population) raise hell. Cough, Andy Bloch, cough, but that's about it.
