A ways back, there was some discussion on how leadership is calculated/determined (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?p=1254571&highlight=leadership#post1254571). Someone came up with an equation that worked well, but still wasn't infallible. Has anyone else investigated this since? I ask because I'd like to identify team leaders on the FOFL site, but it's only of limited use if there are errors.

(it *could* be that it is as simple as slightly tweaking the equations in the above thread, but I have no way of really knowing this)

What is the importance of leadership?

Determines how affinities and conflicts line up. Every member of the position group and every other position group leader is compared to determine any chemistry interactions.

In some cases, your "leader" isn't really a leader. Like say, that aging FA RB that was your leader but you have no plan on signing. You can't release him, and you can guess who will replace him as the leader, but you can't know for sure. In the meantime, he still shows up as the leader, and signings will give you feedback based on his leadership. Some might find this to be an interesting twist, some a minor annoyance.

As far as outside the game goes, there doesn't seem to be any bit of data that can be abstracted that says "players, E, Q and R are leaders". So if you're building a site off of say, interrogator data, you can't readily display who the leaders are, at least not w/o a formula that matches the one in-game (and even then, there seem to be tiebreakers for guys with equal exp and leadership values).
