I know that some of you know a lot more about this stuff than I do. I was doing some searches for a new DVD player on Amazon and I got confused by all of the technical specs and whatnot.
I want to buy a region free DVD player (it can be modded already, as long as I don;t have to do any myself). There's a lot of stuff never released in America that I would like to watch.
A lot of this stuff is in the European/British format. So, in addition to playing the region, it would need to do whatever conversions are necessary to make the disc playable on my normal TV.
Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are not needed, but I would like it to be able to play VCDs.
That's it, just a region free DVD player that converts the signal to something a normal American TV can understand and show. And it needs to be able to play VCDs. How do I wade through all of this technical stuff?
I did a search on Amazon for region free DVD players and got a ton of hits, and I'm not sure what is what. If someone could point me in the right direction, I;d appreciate it!
