I hadn't heard of this game before, but after getting the demo, this will be a must buy once it comes out. This game is a blast! The premise is you are a lord of evil, and you control your minions to destroy all that is good and pure. I was slaughtering sheep and sending my minions out to kill the halflings when I wasn't burning them alive with my fireball spells. :D

If you like playing the old Dungeon Keeper games, then this will probably be right up your alley.

Yeah, it looks surprisingly good. I'm trying to tap my Codemasters contacts to get this one.

You do know it's available for the PC too, right?

Now why in the hell would you go saying that?

If my wife wanted a system just for a game and you said this out loud while she was in the room... I'd have to kill you.

:p :D

Playing the demo now. I love how some of the minions put pumpkins on their head. :)

I tried the PC demo of this. I hope the keys can be remapped. Trailing the minions takes a bit of getting used to but, overall, I'll put it on the list.

Picked it up while out getting lunch. Yes, Codemasters is supposed to send it to us, but I couldn't wait (guess that means once we get it one of the Stable O' Writers is getting lucky).

Flipped it over to read the back while in line for Taco Bell...two-player online/offline co-op. Sweet!

I look forward to hearing impressions. I had no idea it could be 2 player which may be a deciding factor for me as Mrs. Eaglesfan and I are craving a videogame to play together.

once I finish lunch, I'm definitely going to be rocking the Overlord. I just wonder if enough people have it yet to go online. Both the EB's I called looking for it were like "Did you preorder? No? Oh. We only had one presell and we got 35 copies...fuck it, just come in."

So...we'll see. But I'm definitely going to want to get my co-op on with any FOFCers who pick it up.

HA, it's got a demo on Live, if you're able to pull that down.

It's...hard to explain in conventional terms. It's not an FPS, exactly, but you *can* attack enemies in concert with your minions.

It's got strategy elements to it, as you control your minions in having them attack or solve puzzles.

It's not a platformer, although there are things you have to collect to rebuild your tower.

It really seems like it's going to be a jack of all trades, but play the demo. You will either love it or hate it.

i totally forgot about using kingjackoff77 as someone reminded me, so i may switch things up and go that route if possible.

HA, received and accepted.

You can change your gamertag without creating a brand new account, but it will cost you $10 in Microsoft points to do so. Keep it in mind.

Couple things in the game that I hadn't seen in the demo.

1) Just like there's a health altar, you can find magic altars, as well. Saves you having to travel back and forth to and from the Tower to replenish your magic.

2) You earn different titles from your jester depending on the outcome of various quests. Some, like the retrieval quests for tower items, are pretty straightforward. Other quests, though, there are choices for resolution. You can do the 'good' thing and actually finish the quest as assigned, or you can go the corrupt, selfish route, and feed your corruption meter/strength instead. I'm not sure if the title changes on those kinds of quests, but it's neat that you have the option.

3) There are items out there that don't have any direct bearing on the game, but can be useful all the same. My minions found a sack with a thousand gold pieces in it, and retrieved it the same way they do Tower items. I don't know yet what gold is good for.

I saw where the PC version of this game was going to be available to Gametap subscribers on Thursday. That might be enough for me to finally subscribe to Gametap.

My wife has now bought this and is thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing...
