Chaps,

I recently set a defensive game as follows:

Defensive Personnel, Agg Run use Goal line personnel 100% for both 1-80 and own redzone.

In the gameplan: expect Agg Run for 3rd&1 100%. In all other Agg Run columns the setting was zero.

In the match that followed the Goal Line squad were called out 23 times, in every case "expecting the run" (not agg expecting the run", only once on 3rd down the rest from 1st & 10, 2nd & 6 etc.

Not surprisingly they frequently came up against a long pass and I ended up giving up 188 yards on these plays alone!

Anybody got any idea what's going on here? Is it a bug? I'd appreciate the expericneced hands giving their opionions.

Thanks
Jon

It's a bug. A workaround that eliminates the problem is not to use the goal line formation at all. As it is, I use it only inside the redzone which seems to be helping.

Eagelsfan,

Try reversing the sense of the agg run and run columns on the defensive personnel screen. My initial tests make me think that this is a work around. If you try goal line 100% in the run column (instead of agg run) you don't get the goal line team on 1st & 10 (assuming your GP only calls it say on 1st, 2nd & 3rd and < 2)

Jon,

Thanks. I'll give this a try when I get a chance later this week.

I can't imagine it could make the Asheville defense any worse. ;)

No kidding. Maybe trading away my top two corners was a bad idea ;)
