I did! :)

And I'm not going to say anything until more people have read it.

My wife and I both finished it today. An 8 hour drive gave us plenty of opportunity.

We are not allowed to say H**** P***** in my house. My wife is a GM of a Chapters(similar to Borders in the U.S) and she was at work until 3 a.m selling the damn book.

I on the other hand had a good nights sleep :D

I am halfway through, but my delivery arrived at 5 pm today, so in about 3 hours of reading, I am knocking it out.

Well I just missed reading it in one day by less than half an hour. What a failure I am.

Good. It pisses me off that Barkeep is being an asshole by not putting multiple spaces before his spoilers in his stupid thread. I read the first sentence by accident since because of the preview thing. Purely an accident before I could look away and not that revealing, but it annoys me. What an asshole thing to do.

(By the way, I closed my eyes before replying to this thread, and will look out for his idiotic thread before moving my cursor over it from now on.)

Leaving work tonight, one of the girls who works up front was reading it waiting for the door to open. She appeared to be about halfway through.

My 16 yo daughter read it in a day. The book was released in Australia at 9am and she finished later that evening. She was locked in her room all day.

That's the bottom line!

I will lie and say most are happy!

With the book/story or with reading it in a single day? She said she was pretty happy with the book and how it was wrapped up.

Sorry I didn't reply straight away - I just had to go and pick her up from her work.

Did my usual routine - finished hosting the release party, got home at 2 AM, cracked open the book, and finished by 7 AM.

I finished in less than a day. Actually, if you go by 24 hours of receiving the book, I might finish my second reading of it in less than a day. ;)

I have added spoiler space to the first post in that thread.

I think I am a slow reader...

I got the book in the mail at about 3pm yesterday. I'm in Chapter 18 right now.

I am a careful reader and even though I do miss some things, I tend to go back a re-read a section or paragraph just to make sure I understand. It took me a little over 10 hours, the only time that I have ever read a new book in one sitting.

Same. I've been thinking about reading this one though, can someone sum up what happened in the previous books?

http://www.mugglenet.com/books/index.shtml has a summary of the first six.

I will say that the Chicago Tribune critic stated how this is the first book that doesn't stand on its own and you need to have the background knowledge of the first six and I would agree. I regretted not having reread the series before this one, something that I had never thought before.

A loner kid goes to a private school and gets in lots of trouble, though some was no fault of his own.

It took me 7 hours and 18 minutes. I sat down, and didn't stop until I was finished. An incredibly good read.

I picked up my copy at a Borders near me at around 1 a.m. (I had been there since 10 p.m., picked up my bracelet, etc).

Then I came home and slept because I had to be up at 7:30 to go to the gym.

I finally started reading at 10:30 a.m. or so, then at 12:30 drove up to my parent's house, so started reading again at 3ish, finished at 11, after many interruptions due to dinner and needing to help my sister with her computer.

I enjoyed it.
