That's a good name if the puppy likes to chew things or swallow $100 bills.

the wife likes Lucy I add a Lou to it so it's Lucy for short...the 2-year old nixed the Lou and made it a Lee...don't know where she came up with that, but it looks like it's Lucy Lee or just Lucy for short

Thanks all I appriciate it...once I get her home on Saturday I'll post more pics.

Yes, I thought this was the standard FOFC name suggestion now? OS for short.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=normalcell style="PADDING-RIGHT: 10px">Old French form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar, which is composed of the elements gwen meaning "fair, white" and hwyfar meaning "smooth". In Arthurian legend she is the beautiful wife of King Arthur.

...and she could be called Gwen for the short, everyday usage like "Down, Gwen!" "No Gwen!" "Stay Gwen"....yeah, our dog is part of our family. When she was a puppy I wasn't sure what was more trying, training her or raising the kids. Now she's "middle aged", the kids are teenagers, and I can't remember the last time I had to raise my voice at home (on the highway? Yeah, but that's a different thread). Puppies are awesome, but all the years after you train them are better.

My cat's proper name is "Offside" (like the soccer call). We started calling him "OS" for short, making the "S" hard. Now he's just Oz. ;)

I think I read somewhere that two-sylable names that end with an "ee" sound are the best for getting a dogs attention. Think Lassie, Lucy, Mugsy, Sparky, etc.

We were adopted by a puppy, a stray in our apt complex had a litter and abandoned the puppies - one of them saw us walking our other dog and followed us home. I took him to the vet this weekend and he's now officially one of the family.

He's only about 4 or 5 weeks old and is very unsteady on his feet, and he's bowlegged, so when he walks he falls over quite frequently...so I named him Weeble Wobble, but we call him Weeble for short :) I have some pics on my phone, I'll get them posted asap, he's too cute!

Brodie

A buddy of mine has a black lab named Brodie, and all my buddies all inquired as to why he was named that, because we all had different ideas as to the name...

like mine was Brodie as in Sheriff Brodie from "Jaws"...
